Run reeeeeeallly fast and shoot the door gap?

Seriously, though...these things move so slowly through the stations that it would take true incompetence to fail.
I understand the simplicity and slow speed, but understand folks can’t safely drive their ECVs onto a stationery bus many times without bus driver assistance.

For most it probably will be a simple operation, but I’ve seen too many failed parking attempts to assume they all will be.

It will be interesting to hear what the operating procedures will be at the lone in line station.

Forgive me if this has been speculated as I haven't read through all 860+ pages but with Galaxy's Edge opening on 8/29/19 do we think the Skyliner will be open by then? Seems reasonable if many thought September originally.
Hard to answer that question right now, we haven't started trials and testing next after that will be CM training. Also to be clear SWGE opening on 8/29/19 is not going to be a full blown reveal. It's a partial opening namely Millennium Falcon. I think a lot of people are expecting free reign and that's not going to happen. The rest of SWGE will still be under construction and out of site with the usual temporary walls.

That’s simply not true. Dining and shops in Black Spire Outpost will open with Falcon. Of course RotR will be walled off.

Um..... ok I'll check it out at the soft opening....... see you there?!!!
Hopefully!

Excerpt from Disney: “On opening day for phase one, you’ll be able to live your own Star Wars story and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, sample amazing galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and more.”

Never the less, whatever is open is going to bring huge crowds to DHS.

Indeed, that's from the Disney Park Blog...

And from the official Press Release page...

Which says similarly...
On opening day for phase one, guests will be transported to the remote planet of Batuu, full of unique sights, sounds, smells and tastes. Guests can become part of the story as they sample galactic food and beverages, explore an intriguing collection of merchant shops and take the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.
Phase two, opening later this year, will be Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the most ambitious, immersive and advanced attraction ever imagined, which will place guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance and will blur the lines between fantasy and reality.

There is no other way to read this that Phase 1 will be everything but RotR.

That was certainly my take-away from all the announcements.

No but I teach p/t at DU and the Gondolas will fall under my curriculum
I wouldn’t brag too much online about teaching at DU while sharing information from the OGs and other Welcome To Transportation/Ops curriculum (which as you know are marked as confidential material and all current and former Cast are officially prohibited from sharing said material). Disney’s compliance peeps definitely read these and other forums, and are pretty darn good at their jobs. Either way, thanks for the official info.

???? How long is a gondola going to be in the station? 1 foot, per minute?

If the station is 40 feet long, you need to loop in and then out, so 80 minutes...Its a very slow and relaxing ride.

Seriously though, I think its supposed to be ten feet per minute, which make much more sense.
