One thing to keep in mind is a full evacuation of a line will be extremely rare. There are backup systems in place to get the cars back to the stations in the event of a loss of power. About 500 pages ago there was talk of Disney targeting a time of 12-15 minutes to clear the lines if they needed to shut down. I don’t think the plan is to leave guests for hours in a stationary cabin on a regular basis. Pulling people out of cars in mid air with rescue vehicles will not be a regular occurrence (or these things won’t be around long).

In the event referenced a few pages back an entire ski lift line was evacuated from the side of a snow covered mountain in 2.5 hours. I can’t believe they couldn’t/wouldn’t be able to do that work in a fraction of that time with trucks instead of harnesses on a flat, non-snow covered surface. I’m sure Disney and Reedy Creek FD are at least as prepared and likely more prepared than a team at a ski resort. Will the cabins be hot and uncomfortable without the ventilation from movement? I’m sure, but there’s a difference between uncomfortable and life threatening. I know the majority of our posts are just in jest on the issue, but do you really think Disney’s plan would be to build something unsafe or possibly life threatening with no plan or risk management? Disney probably gets sued as much or more than any other company, they know how to handle risk management.
Absolutely, and seriously, how often has that been mentioned in this thread alone. I guess it is the times we live in, but, good grief, what is with the constant cowardliness of people and inability to reason to any degree.

Thank you for this. We're now 741 pages in and still discussing how these gondolas will be too hot. If these things are so deadly, we should use them for the death penalty. Your last meal could be at Le Cellier before embarking on your final magical flight. Honestly, I don't even know how it got this far. If a moderator tried to clean this thread up, they would be best off deleting everything except for the comments from LiftBlog and then call it even. Anyone going to Florida has to expect being hot. It's Florida, not Maine.

Sorry. I'm looking forward to riding them if I ever stay at a resort on the gondola line. Have to die of something and that might as well be heat exhaustion.

The mom tried to keep this on track but it ain’t easy. In hindsight we probably needed a separate construction progress thread where only construction updates and pictures were posted with no debate on the merits of the system, the heat in FL, AC, system capacity, sight lines, alternative buses for people with fear of heights or evacuations.

But this way is fun too :) Can we get to 1,000 pages before this thing goes online?

I heard from a bus driver today the Disney canceled the gondolas due to plastic wire that melts in the sun causing the over heated cabins to sun in the water where the steam release braineatin aomebas into the air.

Wonder what the record is for the thread with the most useless posts? I'm sure we have a good 14,000 posts on this thread that are questionable.
To be fair you could distill most threads on this forum down to a couple pages if you cut out the junk, though this thread is right up there in the amount it has lmao

If you believe everything in this thread, the gondolas will just flat out explode the moment anyone gets on them.

Honestly, the drivers have skin in the game for spreading disinformation on the dangers surrounding the deadly gondolas... they’ll be having their ours cut come launch day.

Disney will make their story into a musical: Bussies!

Honk Honk, Honkeree
————————————————————
This is my most favorite time of day,
The post lunch rush will finally arrive,
There they stand, waiting for our drive.
Only half will fit, I alone can cure the dismay.

Honk honk! Honk honk! Away we go!
No chance a breath could be found,
They’re packed in like sardines abound.
Hold on tight, the lights are soft aglow.
What is it I hear you say?
You want off at the next stop today?
Hold on tight, here comes a hard right!
The bus will move on it’s way!

Why, oh why, do they dash with speed?
Don’t they know I’m about to leave?
That queue is much too long,
It won’t be long before I sing my song.

Honk honk! Honk honk! Away we go!
No chance a breath could be found,
They’re packed in like sardines abound.
Hold on tight, the lights are soft aglow.
What is it I hear you say?
You want off at the next stop today?
Hold on tight, here comes a hard right!
The bus will move on it’s way!

Oh joy! An electric cart to load!
I get to look beyond the road!
Step back! The lift must be lowered!
Beep beep! Beep beep! The bus scowled!

Honk honk! Honk honk! Away we go!
No chance a breath could be found,
They’re packed in like sardines abound.
Hold on tight, the lights are soft aglow.
What is it I hear you say?
You want off at the next stop today?
Hold on tight, here comes a hard right!
The bus will move on it’s way!

Wow, I forgot about brain eating amoebas. I don't think anywhere in these 20,000 posts anyone thought about the brain-eating amoebas and I didn't even think about when your sky oven gets shot out of the sky by lighting, you locked in drowning in a lagoon with gators circling, in the end, the biggest problem may be the amoebas. Better yet if the safety people turn into your most feared enemies trying to keep you from dying by spraying you with brain-eating creatures.

I think I can make a movie about this. Sharknado, I got something better.

"Amoebas!, Why'd it have to be Amoebas!" 🐛
