Funny thing is the older shows WERE a commercial, just maybe not intentionally or overtly, but they made audiences Marvel (accidental pun) at the parks themselves and want to go see it themselves

I agree. The difference between then and now is that then, the content of the show was the focus - "Here's how the Magic Kingdom was built. It started back in 1965, when Walt Disney...". The 'making the viewer want to visit the parks' aspect was subtle.

Now, it's all about the marketing and getting across whatever message TWDC PR/Marketing wants/needs to get across - "Bob Iger bought Lucasfilm. Then, years later, we started building Star Wars: Galaxy Edge, and here's how we did it. Here's how you can book a MAGICAL!!! Walt Disney World vacation to experience this AMAZING new land!!! And by staying at a Disney resort, you can utilize Disney FastPass+ to experience these INCREDIBLE rides with almost no (wait...) with minimal wait times (no, that's not accurate...) to reserve your spot in line! And you can book dining reservations in advance..." There is no subtlety today, just hit-you-over-the-head-with-marketing-to-get-your-money. :(

How tall are those temporary walls Disney puts up?

The concept does show a garden underneath the lowest point. But these new pictures make it seem like the pathway between the garden and the boat queue will be rather narrow.

You can see a door on one of the wall in the picture, so I would say the wall are 8 feet at most. Looks like they will need to add a garden area like in the concept art, but as you say it will make the path pretty narrow.

I’d say 8’ also. 6’ 8” Hubby took pics over those walls last month. While he couldn’t see over the wall, he had no trouble taking photos.
