Look like operator houses a.k.a. "lift shacks" to me. Normally there is one per station, not two. They are places for supervisory staff to sit with a touchscreen control system that has more features than the outside boxes. Also cabinets that house lots of back end electronics. They are usually larger at the drive station, which in this case is at CBB. So I'm a little surprised how big they are at Pop Century.
Isn’t the new name for the gondola with all the lightning in Florida should be called the zapper” it will be electrifying “
Or broomsticksProbably don't need a helicopter for this one.
I doubt that the cargo container sized building is going to be the control box. It's probably just containing the construction of the queue.
Not sure what you mean by the queue? I could definitly see these being some sort of control room. Since this is at the end of the line there probably isn't much in the way of control needed so they wouldn't need much space. There is probably also some amount of control equipment needed which could be in these structures.

Mickey's Fun Gondolas of Doom, if you please...No, I am sorry Walt, but the name that has been settled on are the Gondolas of Doom!
It's nice to see some positivity for what will be a net positive for the resortonce these are up and running i think it will give the parks a worlds fair vibe..
excited for it
Here is the concept art..
The cargo containers are where the swooping roofs are on either side of the station...

They don't look like cargo containers though (to me at least). You can see it has metal framing, insulation, door frames (but no doors), and a window.

Maybe it's this wall thing in back of the concept art, but they ended up with 1 on either side for some reason.

Technically, I can see it... There's control panels on either sides of all beams at Epcot, MK, and the TTC. If they find it to be a safety issue, I could see Disney wanting both sides to be surveyed at all times. When I was in Monorails, I had to keep my eyes open in case anything happened. That could be the same case here.Hmmm... would be odd to have a control center on both sides, no, @Lift Blog ?
AC?I noticed these port holes looking things too that go through the walls in both of them.

Wall studs make it look like a cargo container. That's where they've gone and shoved the insulation on them now. Also, looked like cargo containers two weeks ago, and now they're putting drywall on the outside??

As I understand it, this system will use optical technology to identify each gondola cabin and will be in use at every station. How that will be used at each station I don't know. As always, treat this as just my opinion. The system keeps track of all the cabins in the terminal, but it doesn't know which number cabin it is. Newer systems allow you to mark a chair, so that a 'signal' alarm will go off when it reaches the other station but I'm pretty sure that's just done by counting and nothing more complex.
The gondola I worked had no signal, and even if it did you would still call the number ahead and mention what is it, like a wheelchair, bag of trash etc. so the operator knew what to do once it got there. Yes on a gondola the cabins are usually in completely random order, but once you work a lift for a while it becomes completely second nature. You will be standing there and then suddenly think 'oh yeah I was supposed to be looking for cabin 16' and then it just happens to be the very next one.
I could see how they could bar code or whatever just to make it easier to keep track of maintenance of a cabin itself, but the system doesn't use anything like that.
Only when the door stays open like the Monorailes, oh is that Lightning in the distance“ zaper at work..Agreed, but will they be air conditioned?
No, but, lets use our heads for something other then a hat rack. When the Gondola's of many colors get on the cable and are moving along no ones attention will be on the towers. They will just be a utility part of the transportation just like the towers where when they had the Gondola's in MK. We don't spend time looking at lamp posts, we don't check and see if the tires on the buses are shiny and most people are not judging the Monorails physically. It will be fine, it will blend in with the background, it will work fine, no one will get hit by lightning or BBQ due to the oven connection with the cabins.Plus, wont they paint the towers to blend in a little better than just gray? Say maybe sky blue or green depending on location.
