And from what everybody says, it might be a long wait for the next bus to get there.
I wonder if anyone has figured out how far a walk it really is. It's funny that so many posts are lamenting the lack of A/C in the gondolas, when they'll face a miserable trek just coming and going to the station!

I think it's a stretch to include Pop Century as a resort that's being serviced by this system. It's a really long haul if you try to hike from 'Rubiks Cube' Bldg. 9, all the way around to the station at Art of Animation. Just sit on the bench and wait for the next bus!

Unless they discontinue bus service to MGM and IPcot from “Gondola Resorts” as has been suggested here.

The longest walk at Pop to the bus station from the cube is 1,617 feet (.31 miles). From that same room to the Pop/AoA gondola station is 1,695 feet (.32 miles).

The gondola does put the furthest GameBoy room at a disadvantage: going from 1,6278 feet (.31 miles) to 2068 feet (.39 miles).

And for AoA... the differences from furthest rooms is lesser than for Pop.

I thought I'd post the picture above to help with visualization. I'm happy to help with additional distances as needed!

How do you get your distances, @MisterPenguin? You're impressively precise!

I had assumed that the turn from the International Gateway to the Riviera would just be a turn in a continuous loop between the two but looking at Bioreconstruct's picture of the Boardwalk turn with all the conduit on the Riviera side I guess there will be a cable loop from Epcot to the Boardwalk turn, a cable loop from the Boardwalk turn to the Riviera and a cable loop from the Riviera to Caribbean Station. Lift Blog With all the conduit would there be bull wheel here to power this loop?

Let's hope that the lakeview rooms don't also become preferred rooms since they are closer to generation gap bridge..
I've wondered how that is going to pan out at CBR. Aruba and Jamaica are the only areas left with standard rooms, but unless they intentionally block access to Riviera both of those areas will be closer to a gondola station than the preferred locations. All rooms at CBR would become preferred one way or another being close to either the gondolas or food (OPR and Spyglass Grill). The furthest rooms in Aruba and Jamaica are roughly 300m/984ft from a gondola station. The furthest preferred rooms in Martinique and Trinidad North are also roughly 300m/984ft from OPR.
Martinique is temporarily considered to be standard but surely it'll go back to being preferred when OPR is back up and running.

Maybe they’ll add the final island to the resort and charge more for the perceived value of being closer.

Do you mean in between the gondola towers South of the main station? Would that be a long-term or a short-term plan?
I don't fully understand the second part or your sentence. Where would they charge more for the perceived value of being closer: the existing islands, or the new one?

The CBR south station is partly built on land reserved for the final village "island" of the resort.

Assuming it was now built it would offer some of the quickest access to the gondola. Hence it could be viewed as more valuable.
