I had assumed that the turn from the International Gateway to the Riviera would just be a turn in a continuous loop between the two but looking at Bioreconstruct's picture of the Boardwalk turn with all the conduit on the Riviera side I guess there will be a cable loop from Epcot to the Boardwalk turn, a cable loop from the Boardwalk turn to the Riviera and a cable loop from the Riviera to Caribbean Station. Lift Blog With all the conduit would there be bull wheel here to power this loop?

I still think just one rope will pass through this station like at Riviera. It looks like the steel is all staged nearby so we should know soon.

The conduit isn't necessarily an indication that a drive system will be in that station. The cars slow on the turn so there will be drive tires like in the other stations, as well as sensors and lighting all of which would need the conduits.

The CBR south station is partly built on land reserved for the final village "island" of the resort.

Assuming it was now built it would offer some of the quickest access to the gondola. Hence it could be viewed as more valuable.
How wonderfully vague, yet informative haha.

So, I'm pretty sure the plot in question is the one in orange below...

Any story why they never built that up? The Land Use Map shows it as ready to be utilized.

Not to mention that all that wooded area between CBR and DHS has be released from conservation thanks to offsets and can also be developed (at the cost of creating a lot more retention ponds and building up a lot of sand since it's in the 100 year flood plain zone -- swamp is swampy).

i would think there would always be busses from every resort especially on heavily forecasted thunderstorm days where the gondolas would barely operate?

Thunderstorms won't stop the gondolas running. Lightning maybe, thunder no.

Now if there was a prolonged storm, they might direct some buses to pick up / deliver guests, but in general there won't be. At least not on a regular, every 20 minute schedule.

We have it on good authority that the business plan assumed savings from bus running costs.

11 mph.

It still should be slightly cooler than the outside temperature, plus you’ll be in shade and behind solar glass.
So here's a nifty useful calculator you can play with to plug in some typical temperature/humidity conditions you might find in Orlando...

I suggest you try 88 degrees and 65 percent humidity. It's a real eye opener.

I'm pretty sure that Lightning and Thunder are connected in a way that cannot be separated. But, do I look like Jim Cantore?

The gondolas are currently I use at Wynn Macau View attachment 291998
This system is Air Conditioned and if you look at various pictures of it you can see the battery/capacitor and AC pods on the top and bottom of each cabin. Disney's do not have those additional units. These are also MGD line units. Disney is using D-Line Omega IV-10 units.

That's the one I meant, yes :). As for the vague comment, that was related to Martin writing "assuming it was now built".

Uhhhh….. If you have thunder, you have LIGHTNING! Where do you think thunder comes from?

Since the cabins/gondolas (or whatever they're called) have arrived on site does this mean the construction is proceeding relatively well? Will be there in May 2019 so I'm assuming likely not ready by then.

Thunder and lightning are connected. Typically if a business has a weather restriction it is based on the distance of lightning strikes not just hearing thunder. I assume the policy will have a limit on lightning strikes (something like 15 miles or closer) that will start the sutdown process and then a certain number of minutes lightning free before it reopens. Disney has all the equipment to track storms already so I imagine they will use it for this too.

I don’t think they will shut the gondolas down on days where thunderstorms are forecast. They will wait until the day and make the call on the spot, similar to certain rides, waterparks and the resort pools.
