Good question. I don't see how that angle is possible near France itself.

I was on the bridge. Can’t remember exactly where but the pole behind the Eiffel Tower caught my eye. I did zoom in, which may account for the distortion.

I believe that's called Nomayonnaisein Island.

Castles are quite often found in modern cities next to modern building so why worry too much? Take a picture from the wrong angle of the pyramids in Cairo and you see the whole city including fast food outlets right next to them. So seeing a gondola tower next to the Eiffel Tower is no problem.
