Sorry if this has been reported/speculated on, but do we know if bus service to the gandola serviced hotels will be continued once the skyway opens? Or will the IG be the only way for guests of those hotels to exit?

Insiders have stated that buses will not run between hotels and parks linked by the Skyliner except in extreme cases.

Really?
My wife would never ride in a gondola.
I think she's a bit nuts that way, but surely there are many guests like her that would be afraid to travel that way.
In reality, it's not really fear on her part - more of a claustrophobia thing.
You can step off of a stranded bus.

If you don't want to ride the gondola you can rent a car, take Lyft, take a cab, Minnie Van, bus to another park and transfer, or just stay at a non-gondola resort. Part of what is paying for this system is a reduction in busses. Even if they don't completely eliminate the buses they will be significantly cut back.

I will be glad to see a reduction in buses. I remember playing golf on Lake Buena Vista and the noise from the buses drove ya nuts. I haven't played at that course since because of it. An electric bus would be pretty cool for many reasons. One day maybe.

WDW rarely provides bus service between destinations that have some other form of direct transportation between the two, unless the other form of transportation is down for some reason. It stands to reason that they'd eliminate bus routes between gondola resorts and DHS. That'll be a LOT of buses off the roads in that area, which will be nice.

I do wonder if they'll have a smaller number of buses serving EPCOT's front gate from the gondola resorts, since the only other option is the IG via the gondolas. I doubt it, though.

I understand, and reducing buses is a good thing.
I'm simply pointing out that a gondola unlike a monorail or bus, is a "no go" form of transportation for more people than we might think.

I think it's less than you might think. The only way to know for sure is a scientific survey.

Or, to notice that people going to Disney generally don't have an issue with the monorail which is as high off the ground as the gondolas will be.

Obviously not scientific, but my wife definitely has conveyed to me her concern with the Skyliner.

For her, the difference from the monorail is that it is not supported by just a cable, but rather is a concrete structure underneath.

I believe there is a larger number of people who are afraid, irrational as it may be, of them.

And like others have said, there are alternatives. No matter what, Disney is not going to leave a guest (and their wallet) stranded at the resort, they will find a way for you to get to the parks.

(BTW, I’m still excited for it regardless of the fear my wife may or may not have)

And I'm sure when they don't have a menu of choices... they will buckle down and try... and then realize it's a non-issue and life will go on.

Or WDW will add more buses in the future.
You don't understand - or are dismissing the fear that people can have for traveling this way, and the prospect of it stranding them in the Florida heat and humidity.
I think the gondola's are cool, and I would enjoy riding them.
But again, we're not talking bus or train here modes of transportation that are everyday things for most Americans.
