Though I'm excited for the project, the change to the International Gateway really saddens me. It's my favorite entrance to any Disney park and it was always a peaceful, serene location.

And you could have been washed away on Hampton Beach last week.
I wasn't but a few of the seawalls in the area were. I work for an insurance agency, and was actually surprised how few flood claims
we had.

The gondolas will be great!... until someone’s realizes that Florida weather is incongruent to having 1000s of guests dangle from the sky in torrential rain storms, high winds, extreme lightening and power outages. They also will destroy vistas, perspectives and the natural beauty. Just build more monorails Disney! Sometimes the best choice is the most expensive choice.

Will these gondolas be quiet? In particular will it affect the resorts with loud noise?
Unless someone shouts from them yes.

I wouldn't think so. You might hear a slight clicking(?) noise as they roll over the wheels on the towers (and only if you're right next to it) but aside from that, should be extremely quiet.

Let me tell you... When I'm hanging from a rope, melting from not having any air conditioning, while the cabin is doing 360-degree loops because of the daily catastrophic storms that central Florida gets, all while getting run over by someone who does not know how to operate an ECV... I'm going to be doing a little shouting!!!

Depending on how irritated I still was for just getting done paying $25/night for parking my car... I might be shouting a few choice words as we traverse the beauty and scenery of the boardwalk parking lot...

I can see it now: Bright, multicolored gondolas raining down from above on hapless bystanders... ooohh the humanity.
Ya know, if there's one thing I DON'T worry about whilst at WDW, its the safety precautions they've built into their ride systems. I swear, no one on these damn boards are happy with anything. The gondolas scream of Old School Disney nostalgia. Something everyone on here is always clamoring for, all.day.long.
They build something cool like this and still get chided by the loons.. Now... The icing on the cake... Throw some ad graphics for an IP on the outside of them, a Disney propaganda video playing inside, and have them stop every 3 minutes to load some lazy jacka$$ with a scooter into them, now, now you'll have me in your court throwing shade.

I am not a chiding loon. (a little crazy, scared of heights, and a little disaster phobic, but not a loon)
I like Disney! The only place I have vacationed over the last 10 years has been Disney, but there was a
reason that they removed the "skyliners" from both Disneyland and Disney World. Yes, this will probably
be the best gondola system out there, but to think there will not be breakdowns, just is not realistic. Also
to think Disney will be taking away other travel options for this option, is wrong. Then even penalizing
you if you have an option, your own vehicle, which will now be charged for parking.

i cant agree more. We drive because its cheaper and we can go more. yet now i have to tag on another couple hundred....

Well, if it's any consolation, we stay at SOG so parking is always free, so they're not hitting my pocketbook... unless we stay at GF every once in a blue moon, which is waning more and more each year.
