But according to the podcast once the line was started they still weren't being let off, so blocking the egress path doesn't explain the 30 minute stoppage.

Which is another issue, if its a heart attack and they are providing treatment at the station area, you aren't going to let people off that would possibly interfere with care. Its far better to send them around again than to let people off into a possible life saving situation and gapers block.

They restarted so they could be removed from the gondolas at another station vs holding them indefinitely once they understood the length of recovering from the event at the station.

Yes, I understand that. My question, which has been answered, was why would there have been a 30 minute stop.

These where the days I was there and there was a stoppage on two consecutive days around the late afternoon/evening time on the Epcot line so some stories could be getting confused with others as to what happened to cause it to shut down.

Most likely answer when the incident occurred was e-stop of that leg. It likely had to await RCFD emergency arrival to begin treatment and understand the situation. At that point they likely learned it would be some time so they decided to restart to disembark guests at the other end.

I see this as Disney having learned from the incident a few weeks ago and having a process in place now for evacuation as soon as it was clear this would be an extended event.

Do they have the same touristy, stroller pushing, ECV riding population as WDW?
Maybe they will now! Actually, because Bretton Woods is owned by the Mount Washington Hotel and it attracts a lot of non-skiing tourists, there may be some ECV-bound guests who might want to try a scenic excursion.

Just hoping nobody has a panic attack during a routine stoppage.

off topic, I know, and I know this image will change, but it's so typical of the summit camera from Mt Washington:

Yup, wind swept ice and fog, that's the frequent scenario.

We drove up there on 4th of July once - it was 94 degrees at the bottom and something like 50 degrees at the top - we were FREEZING after driving several hours with the top down while wearing shorts and tanks and the sun warming us. Hubby was riding shot-gun that trip and he wasn't too happy with how narrow the road is or the buses flying down the road towards us. I'd be curious to know how often that road gets repaved.

Stoppages will happen on the skyliner. That is just the way it is. The stoppage could be for a medical emergency or a malfunction or a very slow guest boarding etc.

The only stoppage WDW has any control is the stoppage due to malfunction, lets hope they keep these to a minimum.

I can see the mountain from my house... sort of, because its covered in clouds half the time, including today. Should be blanketed with thick coat of fresh snow once the clouds clear.
