The site which cannot be named is reporting another outage of one of the lines related to issues with the ADA loading area. I have been a string supporter of this system from day one, but that support is starting to waver.
Honestly mine has too. I would have thought they would be getting ahead of the ball on this but it feels like they are chasing their tails.

The Skylines opening has been very disappointing and the recovery is to slow.

When every day a portion of the line features major downtime putting little A-frames out that say this is normal is not the solution!

While I will contain that the main concern prior to opening, air conditioning, isn't really a factor it becomes increasingly difficult to show support for a system that continues to fail daily for mechanical reasons.

Yes
anyone see the video of bob gur critisizing the skyliners due to evac procedure and estop? he made good points.
I was able to have breakfast with him last year and when I asked him about the new parking trams he said "I didn't think they could out-ugly me, but by golly they did it" He is always so funny especially when he's talking about transportation designs. Would love to see that video if you have a link.

So in essence it is a monorail on a cable. Since the monorails seem to routinely break down.

Doppelmayr has signed an agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line and a local partner to build a gondola system for what is basically an Alaskan theme park. The system will have two lines and be capable of moving 5,600 guests per hour. Scooter and wheelchair accessible. Sound familiar?

Yeah...
What do you think the percentage of Scooters will be vs. that at Disney?

It depends on how "scooter friendly" the cruise line is. If the cruise line doesn't accommodate them, there won't be many passengers using them. If the port excursions do not accommodate them , the same. But if both the ship and excursions are friendly towards those with mobility issues, the numbers will increase.

WDW has been very accommodating towards those with mobility issues, which is why you see so many guests using scooters - they know they can.

I’ve been to Icy Strait Point.

It’s essentially a stop the cruise lines made to offer a variant on some of the cruises up the inside passage and in southeastern Alaska. It’s an old fish canning facility turned nature trail area.

Not a LOT to do back then, but still was absolutely beautiful.

The gondola will only add to it.

You're such a crab!

I too have been to Icy Strait Point. Did the Zip Line. Twice! So much fun. I think the Gondola will add alot to the island. When I was there we had to take a bus ride up and then a little downhill hike from where the bus dropped us off. I could see were the Gondola is going to make getting to the Zip Line launch much much easier and way more scenic.

Some people just are not happy unless they have something to be unhappy about.
The system has had some teething troubles, but it has already transported over 1 million people. Seems to me that would be somewhere between 25,000 and 30,000 people per day
One source I found said 250,000 guests travel daily to and from various WDW properties via the 300 buses, 12 monorail trains, and the fleet of water taxis and boats. So, the Skyliner system by itself seems to be transporting around 10% of the traffic that all other transportation systems combined are doing. Sounds a lot like success to me. Also, I wonder during that same time period how many bus breakdowns there were and how many issues there were on the monorails.
One thing I do wonder about their Skyliner passenger count is if each line counts individually. If so, a lot of rides such as POP to EPCOT would counts as 2 passengers since you rode two lines. I would guess the number of "trips" would be 60-70% of the passenger count.
