Hello everyone, I'm new to this site too although not to Disney. I'm from England and we've been to our 'happy place' 6 times and have just booked the Beach Club for next September. Can't wait. In between we go to DLP (usually for the Xmas season) which is only a 1 hour flight from here, but much, much, much colder!!

Welcome!
There are a lot of folks here that would be happy to help you with any level of planning or details. Do realize that we often can get carried away and can provide you with enough info to make your head spin! We also don't often agree on a lot of things, so you may get one person telling you something is the best and another hating it.

For a first timer, WDW is a VERY big place and you will need to plan your visit.

I suggest you pick up one or two Disney tour books, possibly Birnbaums and the Unofficial guide (they provide different perspectives). It is best that you have an idea of the things you want to do during your visit and a general idea of the layout of the parks.

The second major issue is dining. There is a wide variety of dining options available, from counter service to sit down meals to fine dining experiences. You should familiarize yourself with what is available and what you might like. You will need to make your reservations now for some of the more popular locations. You can find menu's and reviews to help with your decisions

Understand that you will not be able to do everything in one visit, so set a reasonable pace for your group of two or four. Eight days is a nice stay, but do build in some breaks or your trip may seem more like work.

Are you staying on site?

Let us know a little more about what your preferences might be...rides, shows, dining, other entertainment, character interaction...whatever. There are many different ways to experience WDW.
