rightfully said. i think the videos show a unique meet and greet and short show that children will love, i know my kids would like that! i hope all the haters watch the videos and change their minds. also, wouldnt it be cool if when you made reservations for the restaurant, before you dine, you would be allowed on a "fast pass" kind of special line for diners to experience the m+g before you sat down at your table...

I believe they were pulling random families behind the wall from Fantasyland, asking them if they wanted a preview of the attraction.
We overheard a cast member pulling other guests. We went up to that cast member, they directed us to the door and there were no questions asked at the door. Later on, my friend tried to get in and they told him the attraction wasn't opening until November. He pushed and said, "my friend was in there this morning," and only then did they say they were done testing for the day.

anyone know if they are going to just open the area up sooner then later. They have to be kinda close. I am kinda guessing that they will be taking down the stuff around the castle walls soon and they will not need to quarentine the area off after that

I think it will depend on whether they want to re-tool any part of the show based on what was seen during previews.

Was over there today and just missed the previews by 30 min. Just look for some CM's standing outside the gate by a door.

Talked to a friend who just experienced. Very nice guy. HUGE Disney fan. Got the addiction bad.

His take was there will be immense lines for this due to the small capacity plus the fact Disney is touting it as an attraction, not like getting Daisy Duck's autograph at EPCOT's entrance (BTW, I often wonder who comes up with putting characters in situations ... why Daisy and Stitch at Epcot's plaza?)

Friend opined that many folks will be grumpy to start with because they'll be baking in the sun to get in. Once in, friend was amazed by the pre-show area, compared the effects to TDS's ToT (although, to be fair and unlike this Spirit, he's never experienced that amazing experience that makes you wonder what just happened in front of you) ... ''and then you go through a door and get to see children with cardboard prance around while Belle comes in and PhotoPass CMs slink around the room ... and that's it.''

If you're a 21st century WDW guest or a Mommy to a 5-year-old girl, then you'll likely love it ... but the rest of us ... well, you know what that Jim Hill dudes says about us.

Imagine what it could have been...you enter Maurice's cottage, are asked if you'd like to see Belle, (you say yes, of course), and then the magic mirror does its amazing stuff and you find yourself in the Beast's castle. The Wardrobe greets you and tells you that Belle is in the next room getting ready to tell you the story of Beauty and the Beast. Then you hear Lumiere call to you to come in, and you enter the story room and there's Lumiere on the mantelpiece and Belle in a chair with a huge storybook in her lap. After you are seated, she starts telling her story...and as she does, various effects come to life in the room, such as Mrs. Potts and Chip making comments from the wardrobe, Cogsworth adding in a word or two from a shelf, and the footstool under Belle's feet barking and whimpering. And there are thunder and lightning and snow effects outside the windows, and in the end an impressive AA of the Beast makes an appearance to tell Belle it's time to go to dinner and "I've got something very important to ask you." Belle tells the Beast she'll be there in a moment, and then she wonders aloud, "I wonder what he wants to ask me?" and the AAs of Cogsworth and company say "He's going to propose! Yay!" or some such. And then Belle poses for some pictures with the kids in the audience and that's the end. I think all that's better than watching some reluctant kids march around with cardboard cutouts. I bet kids would like my version better too. Or so I flatter myself... :p

Look for the attractions CMs to be wearing their own new costumes for the tests now (only character attendants wear the yellow and blue ones, the other cast was borrowing them). They look great! Don't have photos, sorry! :(

I have a feeling these tests were more to get the CM's ready and maybe they possibly were watching the peoples reactions with cameras inside. Sometimes a reaction can speak volumes more than words.

To me this is a huge buildup to what amounts to an underwhelming payoff. The mirror is almost too impressive for the "attraction" portion. The attraction portion is more or less at the World Showcase Players level of complexity. The animatronics are great, the theming is great, and the mirror effect is a true "wow" moment, but it's all included as part of a very simple show.

My understanding is that the Cinderella's chateau that was originally planned saved that "wow" moment for the show itself when Cinderella transformed from her rags to riches right before guest's eyes. I doubt anything significant can be added this late in the game, but fingers crossed that the find a way to enhance the show.

I'd have to agree, the experience of the show itself is loads better than the old storytime with Belle but the buildup to it has you expecting something more. The show itself seems like it would have done a lot better with a few special effects of its own and/or a complete telling of the story. As it is now if the attraction is really just supposed to be a beefed up meet and great I imagine the biggest difficulty management is going to face is that after waiting 40 minutes to see Belle, the kids aren't able to get her autograph. I personally don't really care about that though.

I must've missed that part. Where have they said kids can't get autographs from her?

I did the preview on Saturday, they took pictures with her but there was no opportunity for her to sign anything.
That's not going to go over well... the automatic association with a M&G is usually a chance to get an autograph. Maybe in previews they aren't. Who knows.

From some post from the MNSSHP last night, they had this open and were letting people in during the party. Hopefully they are still doing this when I go to the party on Oct. 28th
