New Fantasyland Aerial photo (Jan 24)

I'm quite confident that they are the same walls. If you look at the first aerial photo you can see the back wall is still green. And if you look very closely you can even see those two "columns" on the inside of the back wall. I've seen these walls firsthand as construction has progressed, I'm not just basing this on some photos from an airplane.

Yep you are right. Those columns are the things I was missing, but after zooming up a bit you can just barely make them out. I stand corrected

Here is an overlay of the blueprints on the aerial photo.

The Mine Train layout is from Lee, which he posted here: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showpost.php?p=4427441&postcount=117. I inserted Lee's MS Paint layout into the leaked blueprints, so the scale might be slightly off.

I am guessing the red is the stand by que, the green is the fast pass and the yellow is the exit???

If that is the case it looks like the cottage might be a gift shop seeing how Disney loves to have you exit a ride right into a gift shop where the kids can whine about getting something. LOL at least that is what mine do...

You might be right, but I am not convinced that those are the same walls. The Mermaid walls looks like they are being poured in the older pictures due to having plywood forms in place where the openings in the walls are now. I cant think of a reason to have those if all they did was cut holes in the existing walls from 20K.

I think that plywood is covering the holes for safety reasons so someone didn't wander into the construction site.

That is correct. From Lee, the colors on the Mine Train layout are as follows:

Here is the (undistorted) plan overlay.

I don't recall the leaked blueprints having the Tea Cups on them. Is this a larger version of those same blue prints?

Great picture as usual! Believe me, I'm as excited as everyone, but looking at this photo, and reading everything about the huge fle expansion and the size of the new coaster, isn't the whole land the size of the former 20,000 leagues???

Judging from this picture it sure looks like it's the same size.

You also have to take into account that a lot of the expansion plot has never been used by guests before. Some was backstage areas, some was landscaping, some was parking, some of the area was just completely unused. The area IS larger than the 20K attraction ever hoped to be.

Yes but likewise you also have to take into account that more service areas will now be needed.

Without Toontown Fair's changes...the space is about the same as 20K's usage. It does not mean that the attractions can't be good, but they are not really doubling the size of Fantasyland as they say. It is missleading.

i have to say TLM show building is tiny, looking at IASM as reference, even the old 20k building, and in that front area they have to make a fascade & queue... knowing florida designs queues are typically inside or under a cover... so how much room can be left for the mine train....

i guess it will all fit, but TLM prob be a LONG wait for an extreamly Short ride
prob have the omnimover moving faster than say HM, which i think is too fast too!

I don't believe TLM will be as small of a ride as many of us think. If you look at aerials of rides such as Winnie the Pooh and "it's a small world" the buildings are about the same.
As for the queue, I'm sure most of the line will be along that u shaped building next to the ride building.
As ofr their comment about doubling Fantasylands size, seems like thats still mostly true. I mean Fantasyland wasn't very big, with just the two main pathways surrounded on both sides with rides. Fantasyland Forest will have a look more to walk around and see. I doubt the back of the Seven Dwarf's Mine Cart ride will just be generic bushes and shrubs.

I'm pretty sure Small World's show building dwarf's TLM. Not to derail your overall point.

I don't see how you can say that considering the BOG is sitting on top of the parking lot in that picture. All of that backstage area is now going to be used for Belles village.

It looks like the mine coaster is going to take up about the same area as the lagoon for 20K

bah, small building = small ride

like i said, its going be a LOONG wait for a short ride...
i dont mind longer waits for a longer ride...
6 mins is so short, if i have to wait 60 mins in a queue
and lets not forget how long the fantasyland queues get...
PP seems always to be long, when i show up
i assume TML queue will have FastPass designed into the queue from the get go

anyone know how long the ride time is for say Snow White? seems if you think about it...
we trading a ride for another ride here... or maybe you could say we trading SWSA for the mine train, and TLM is finnally a replacement for 20k

shame they still boxing into the old MK outline, and not really expanding it
(ok a little, i see SOME backlot is going away) but that service road still is the border

course dont the main fireworks launch from slightly behind that service road :)
hate to move them back...already too far back for my tastes :)
