Whatever. I love theme parks. Don't act like you know me. I would go to Universal in a heartbeat if it wasn't so pricey for the small amount of time that would be spent there. If you love it so much then go and have fun. We're done here.

I gotta disagree with you there. I priced 3 day single park tickets for my co-worker and his family of 4. That is for 2 adults, a 10 year old and a 2 year old. The price was right at $1100. That's for single park, no water parks. For 3 day, park to park tickets for the four of us to go to Universal it runs about $700. That's for 2 adults, a 13 year old and a 12 year old.

You do realize there are 2 full blown world class theme parks, 3 deluxe resort hotels that are superior to any of the Disney hotels, and a dining/nightlife district that hasn't been ply boarded up for 4+years.
Why don't you just boil it down to "It's not Disney, and no matter what they build, no matter how high quality it is, and no matter how superior to Disney it is, I'm not interested because, well, it's not Disney."

Honestly I think you are incorrect here about what the poster is saying. Of course until one visits UNI and actually takes a day or two and experiences the parks and attractions a person can't really say if UNI is worth the cost and time. But NOT spending another $ 500-600 bucks to check it out, is a totally valid reason to pass a visit to UNI up.
We haven't been to UNI yet either for the same reason basically coupled with I think the grandkids are still a little young for HP, but they are big on the dark rides and the thrill rides at WDW so UNI is definitely in our near future.
But If I have xx number of dollars for my florida vacation and I have travel, a stay at the beach, food/lodging/stuff to allocate for, I say NOT going to UNI because I feel it is priced to high at this point for me to try it is a valid reason and has nothing to do with slamming UNI. Everyone has different priorities how they spend their vacation dollars.

I think what G00fyDad was saying is that he feels he gets more value at a package for Disney. If you were looking at just the parks, yes, Uni IS probably a better deal on a per day basis. However, when you factor in amenities, from transportation to extra magic hours to the complimentary entertainment featured at many of the Disney resort hotels, then some people, myself included, feel that Disney is a better overall package.

I'm not sure how that could be construed as anything but price....

I'll debate ignorance, not opinions.
If @G00fyDad 's family doesn't do well on thrill rides, MK is vastly preferable to IOA.

My thoughts exactly. I can do every ride at MK. I have yet to brave seeing the YETI and RNRC. I did overcome my reluctance and I have been on ToT twice now....
I read the UNI stuff alot lately...I love Loews resorts.....The one in NOLA is really nice...But I think my kids and grandkids will love the rides at UNI, right up their roller coasting thrill ride alley. And me....be a lot less for me in the UNI parks compared to the WDW parks...

SMALL AMOUNT OF TIME. He feels there's not a lot there that's of interest to him to justify the cost.

Well I read it as about price too...and it is a similar reason I haven't been to UNI yet, I'd rather spend two more nights at WDW in a deluxe than buy tickets for 5 of us to do UNI for 2 days....
At this point anyways..

And I feel the same way at this point, I don't want to spend another $500 or $1000 of my vacation dollars at UNI and subtract from my time at WDW.
But at some point I think our family will spend 3-4 days on property at UNI. As to whether I add days to our FLorida vacation time and not spend less time at WDW to accommodate the days at UNI too, will depend on money.

I would ask why you haven't been to Universal? I could understand if you went and didn't like it, but if you haven't been then how can you make a comparison?

And I don't even know why it matters if Goofy even likes Universal, that's of little consequence pertaining to the OP's poll. If he doesn't like Universal then he doesn't like it, no big whoop.

Actually the prices are almost the same as Disney, Uni is cheaper.
UNI/IOA 1 day base ticket - $95.45
UNI/IOA 2 day base ticket - $133.95
UNI/IOA 1 day park hopper ticket - $132.45

Disney MK 1 day base ticket - $101.18
Disney Epcot Hollywood Studios Animal Kingdom 1 day base ticket - $95.85
Disney 2 day base ticket - $195.96
Disney 1 day park hopper - $137.39

But this assumes he is skipping Disney and going to Uni instead. A 7 day non hopper ticket at Disney is $309.00 but Five day at Disney + two at Uni would be $422.00.

I guess. In the previous post he mentioned a day or two so I was just comparing a day or two. He also wouldn't need a 7 day ticket if he is doing two days at Uni, just 5 day at $307.79 (my prices include tax). So for $420 dollars... $60 a day, you get 5 days at Disney parks and two days at Uni vs $47 a day at just Disney.... A $13 per day difference isn't bad

What amenities???
Uni offers water taxis & shuttle buses from their hotels to the parks, early entry to WWoHP, express line access, and citywalk has tons of entertainment

Money partially, not quite to the point where I want to dilute the WDW dollars because I am still getting alot out of our visits there....I'm also pushing my granddaughter to read a HP book first, told her watching the movies doesn't qualify. Like I said my travel buddies are the thrill ride lovers so I am already hearing the noise about UNI.
UNI is definitely in our future....I really can't compare...I didn't vote

:) I kinda knew that. I can read all the reviews on trip advisor and ask all the questions at the forums but until I go experience a place myself I won't have firsthand knowledge so whatever opinions I may have about a place are at best informed and at worse ignorant. I have reasons I haven't made it to UNI yet but I can't dis the place or compare it.

I checked on prices right before I made that post. It will cost $577 (without the much needed EP) for 3 adults and 1 child.
