IDK if it's been reported in other places but Tom Bricker had a story about construction here and apparently part of the delay was that they prioritized the building of their 31,000 square foot commercial bakery that was needed to support the baked goods production that they are expecting to need for this location. Not saying this is an excuse for the crazy timeline but at least it makes a little more sense.

The befuddling thing to me is I imagine they've been paying Disney rent on that space since they took occupancy and that's a long time to have negative cash-flow on a project with no income coming in to offset the investment.

They may have negotiated the delay into the contract...knowing they would have to build the offsite baking facility first. Offsite baking means not as fresh as they would like you to believe....generally. Maybe they will delivering to the restaurant multiple times a day.... but I doubt it.

Supposedly each cake is hand-assembled/hand-iced so in theory it should be fresh. They have 12 types of cakes daily so hopefully there will be multiple, fresh deliveries.

Of course, I'm gonna be hard pressed to pay $20 for a slice of cake.

IIRC, a big part of their business has always been that you can mail-order their cakes, so I doubt the experience is that different with an off-site bakery. I would imagine off-site preparation will revolve around the same things you can order for delivery from their website while the on-site kitchen will be utilized for the rest of the menu.

Looks good. When this is done do we start a timetable for the empty Big River Grille spot?
From what I hear from my contacts, it has not been touched since it closed. Even the kitchen stuff. You would think they would sell that in the bankruptcy. Maybe so many places have closed that there is no market for it. It had been there a long time.

Turns out the clown slide really was scaring away the execs. They’ve been steadily ruining the boardwalk ever since it was removed. Not even Julie Andrews could turn it around.

What has Julie Andrew's advertised with The Boardwalk 😂? All I know is she rode the monorail and did a great tour for the Opening of Walt Disney World.

Was at the BW in July & was able to order a single slice and enjoyed it.
I haven't tried the pizza there still nor in the restaurant as of yet. For the outside window I hear the pizza isn't the quality as it used to be. I remember that someone went or wanted to go there for the Mickey Shaped Pizza which I figure is no more if true? If the pizza is better in the restaurant I would try it there. For Via Napoli it's true the pizza they sold at the window was nothing close to the pizza you'd get inside.
