Pretty sure you haven’t seen the finished space yet.Nothing screams Boardwalk like bougie tea and muffins in a white washed space with giant swans.

"a bit higher" = at least 25% higherThat's menu prices in Indiana. Disney prices might be a bit higher.
Cake Bake Shop sounds like it will be quick-serve bakery and part table-service restaurant. The existing bakery becoming a sandwich shop and the new coffee shop with quick bites are more what I was citing as potential quick-service improvements. However, having looked at The Cake Bake Shop's menu, $26 Club and $26 Po' Boy sandwiches solves none of the BoardWalk's quick service dining problems.
No but that doesn't mean its a good fit either. This area is longing for a casual dining venue. An event meal lacks charm. I don't have the faith that this won't look pretty dang similar to their other locations which would be a great fit for something like the Grand. This is NOT remotely close to the look and feel of the Boardwalk.Pretty sure you haven’t seen the finished space yet.
I don't know how to use those emojii things. At least 25% is what I meant by "a bit""a bit higher" = at least 25% higher
Bob must be salivating. And not for the cake, LOL.
I assume you mean Big River. It may have a couple TVs but not nearly on the level of a sports bar/pub. Could it become one? Sure. In its current form it certainly is not. You are better off going to watch a game across the way at Ale & Compass, Martha'a Vineyard or at the Swolphin. Is River City Brewery still open? I realize it’s not know for its cuisine. But doesn’t it have TVs? It has sports pub type food and beer.
Exactly - and those places may - or may not - have access to the most popular games in their one or two TVs. I realize ESPN was probably limited to the ESPN games/ ABC games but the Boardwalk area really needs a sports bar. Lots of sports fans who shelled out a lot of money for hotel rooms and park tickets with money set aside to watch ‘the game(s)’ at a sports bar.I assume you mean Big River. and have a feeling the lobby and rooms are going to be generic as can be, or riveria style like. very concerned. No but that doesn't mean its a good fit either. We watched the Super Bowl there twice. It was a great atmosphere when something was going on that pulled in a crowd.Exactly - and those places may - or may not - have access to the most popular games in their one or two TVs. My son and my husband usually have their own room so I guess we could Instacart some beer and snacks and they could watch the games in their hotel room with the balcony door open for ‘ambience’ - but these are two guys who love a sports bar. To them, on a trip, nothing beats hearing other patrons yelling ‘Go !!!(insert your sports team here)’ and having everyone cheer with them.
I know this thread isn't about the poly. But, yes, we stayed at the Poly multiple times over the years. We loved the dark wood and the Tiki lamps in the rooms. In fact, I'd love to get one. We haven't stayed at the remodeled version. Frankly, the videos I've seen have turned our family off on them. Removal of the carpet and the Tiki theme and replacing it with Moana tatoos aren't really the aesthetic we like -- especially those prices!Have you stayed in one? Having stayed in both it was definitely a huge improvement. I’d like to know what comfort inns you’ve been staying at. Regardless that’s a ridiculous comparison.
Funny that you used a picture of the old rooms for your comparison.I know this thread isn't about the poly. But, yes, we stayed at the Poly multiple times over the years. Comfort Inns are wonderful hotels. Have you stayed at any? Seems to be comparable amenities-wise.
I'll be sure to fix that. New Poly room. You're right; it's even worse.Funny that you used a picture of the old rooms for your comparison.
I did love those old lamps
I don’t believe I’ve ever paid $35 for a chicken salad sandwich. Will they serve $18 Chef Boyardee with Yoo-hoo to the kiddos? Optional $3 upcharge to actual milk, it goes without saying."a bit higher" = at least 25% higher
