New Disneyland Parking Garage and Transportation Hub

There are many other places to park and it doesn't have to be any higher than the bridge. No mountains or buildings to cross, just a street.

The only reason I mentioned that is because my husband, who can walk across a bridge just fine, has an instant panic attack when in "rides" that are in motion and out of his control. He can stomach some of them okay (like POTC, HM, Small World) but others like gondola style attractions, roller coasters, spinners, heck even Luigi's Roadsters, cause an irrational panic like attack in him. He's not actually afraid of anything bad happening, it's just something about being out of control of the movement that causes the panic.

I know his experiences are not the norm. I know most people would be fine. But my family, who stay on Harbor, and do not have a car when in town, would find gondolas a pain in the butt to work with. And there would be others who would feel the same. Just something to think about.

A Peoplemover was the way guests would be tansported across Harbor back when the DLR master plan was being developed.

I mean, why can't they just keep the plan as-is and have a M+F-type tram running from security to the esplanade? It would take up less room than the bridge and allow for a security check / guest access on harbor. I have no attachment to this bridge,, other than hoping/wishing disney could stick to a plan for more than a year when these plans and missteps mean changes to the parks. We already lost TOT to guardians, so marvel/dca expansion would make that less in vain.

I read somewhere they wont let trams run on City streets.

This map still kills me. So amazing and as much as I enjoy DCA, sooo much more amazing.
In another, better timeline we have that version of the Disneyland Resort but the second gate is DCA from 2015 before Aladdin was taken out but after Grizzly Airfield was put in.

I think a lot of people run over there for cheap food during the day
In 40+ years of visiting Disneyland, many as an AP, I've never once left the parks to eat across the street. But yes, there are likely many that do run over there though I'm not sure anything is exactly "cheap" over there. If I remember correctly from my days working in Anaheim, the McDonalds used to be slightly higher priced than the one on Ball and Anaheim and would not always participate in some of the discount promotions similar to how some OC McDonald's won't participate in the $1 any size beverage deal currently in market.

Love Aladdin but in no way is that enough reason to keep DCA.

Additionally, since the main impediment seems to have been diverting foot traffic from Harbor Blvd businesses I just wonder how many people actually walk to or from Toy Story lot now anyway?

Negative ghost rider. The problem is taking away the convenient access those business had to the main gate. That's their beef

Disney should have thought to offer free signage or a kiosk for the good neighbor hotels and the restaurants on the bridge. Sure, the bridge is inconvenient, maybe, as impact to those businesses is purely fear and speculation. But Disney could have easily countered with such an offer. The reality is, with 6,000+ parking spaces in that lot, plus the bus and rideshare dropoff, there will be tens of thousands of people entering the resort in that gateway on a daily basis. Advertise the businesses on the bridge, and I'm certain the bridge could be a boon for business. Disney just never even tried to flip the narrative. Doing nothing for a year has gotten them nowhere. It frankly would have been more successful to have a public hearing process process with monthly meetings. 12 community meetings and half as many design iterations could have meant major progress. Instead, we are looking at a major fail.
