New Disney Characters??

My great wish would be for Disney to buy TimeWarner. Probably way too much cashola for them though.

Getting the DC and Looney Tunes characters would be great additions and the cable business is something Disney's wanted for years. None of the DC properties have been very successful (besides Batman), so there'd be enormous upside - especially if the people in charge of Marvel would help run DC. Putting Marvel and DC together would be AMAZING.

I'd love it if they got the rights to use Final Fantasy characters in the parks. It wouldn't look too weired because of Kingdom Hearts and it would be so cool.

Ew God No! With star wars at the park I can only think of the scene from Clerks 2 about Star Wars and Lord of the rings.

I wouldn't mind that at all; and they could easily be featured in the Japan pavilion at Epcot.

Forget Nintendo, bring back Sega. They had a big presence in innovations at one time anyway. A meet and greet with the sonic characters would be awesome. Sonic, Shadow, Amy, Knuckles, Tails and Dr robotnic.... How cool would that be? Add in some of the phantasy star and wonder boy characters along with the shining in the darkness, shining force, shining the holy ark, and Im in nerd heaven. :lol::lol: And then the panzer dragoon ride wouldnt be that far behind! Sorry Im getting ahead of my self.

Of course most people have no clue as to any of these characters anyway but oh well.

After all I heard and read J.R.R. Tolkien despised Disney and his movies (actually entire Hollywood), I think his son and heir Christopher Tolkien wouldn't sell the franchise to a company his father actually hated.

Yeah but C.S. Lewis didn't like Disney(Hollywood) either and look how that turned out. For the right price, I wouldn't doubt that Disney could get Lord of the Rings. The question is, would they want to? All the movies are either released or "going to be". I think Disney might be better off if they just left Lord of the Rings alone.

I'd rather see them reboot Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Tale Spin, or Rescue Rangers..

After seeing how Teen Nick's ratings have gone through the roof as a result of playing 1990's programming Disney should probably consider something like this.

I'm cool with this. I'd like to see them get the Power Rangers back. Seriously the new show Nickelodeon put out is painful!

But instead of buying other characters. Why not reboot Doug or Recess? We all know them and many people would like to see them!

Doug might be a great idea especially since NICK is doing a 90's reboot and Doug is one of the shows they're re-airing

Disney fusing with Nintendo makes a lot of sense when you consider that Nintendo is basically the gaming counterpart to the company and that Mario and Mickey are basically the same guy.
High voices, red wardrobe with white gloves, versatile enough to fit countless roles, being the most recognizable characters in the world and both being created as a result of copyright disputes, Mario having been created because Nintendo lost the Popeye license when they were planning a new arcade game and they replaced Popeye and Bluto with a plumber and a giant monkey.

Disney would be wise to consider acquiring Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends.

This series is incredibly popular with little boys (which will draw them into the parks and balance out the little girl "princess" merchandise).

Besides, it has a TON of characters, lots of toys already out on the market, the wooden trains, the die-cast trains, and various other things they can fill shelves with quickly.

Also, they could make a small land or expansion near the UK (where the Thomas stories originate) in Epcot where a life size Thomas and a couple of his friends could be seen and photographed...the faces could be animated like Mr. Potatohead in TSMM.

I think it would be a colossal draw for boys from 2 - 8 which will be complimentary to the princess draw for little girls.

Hopefully they take the "Dino Institutes's" knowledge and know that "the future is truly in the past," it would be amazing if they brought back Doug, Recess, Oswald, The DuckTales crew, etc.

Adapting the Darkwing comic and getting the crew behind that series for further stories would be a good place to start.
