New Discounts Are Out Today!

Disney released some new discounts today! These are room only discounts
which can be made into a package if you would like tickets and even the
dining plan.

These discounts are a slight departure from Disney's standard way of doing
things. Some dates and some room categories and resorts have much higher
discounts than others. In addition, you must book by January 22nd to get
the best discounts. After that date, discounts will continue but at a
reduced rate.

If your stay spreads across dates where the discounts change, your rates
will change accordingly per night.

The discounts are from February 21 to June 14, 2012. The discounts range from 5% to 30%.

Some of the dates with the greatest discounts will be February 21-March 8,
April 13-May 24, and May 28-June 14.

We're booked April 12-22 in a Pirate room at CBR. I called this morning about this discount and was told that it would come to 25% off for CBR, except that doesn't include Pirate Rooms. My son really wants to stay in a Pirate Room, so for now, I'll just wait for the AP discounts to come out. From what I hear, those normally go for around 40% off anyway.

Now, if AP discounts come out and I am again told that Pirate Rooms are not eligeable, I guess I'll just have to sit my son down and explain to him that even though I would love to give him a Pirate Room, I am not going to forgo the discount and pay over 700 bucks for it.

We just booked Beach Club for the 3rd week in April. I'm relieved that I no longer have to check the website twice a day to see if a discount for April has been released!

So many opitons but my orginial March 24th POFQ free dining beats all these new discounts. That is not usually the case for 2 adults.

Actually for the last few rounds of dicounts at least, it certainly has. Free Dining is a rather amazing offer given the pricing of the dining plan. However as others have said, this discount is not a bad one and any money saved is a good thing. Many thanks to the wonderful team I work with, good work on the information Ladies and Richard!!! Anyone know if these rooms are usually filled up soon after the discounts come out? This is my first time planning a trip on my own, but I want to wait to book it to be 100% sure that two of our friends are coming with us.

Some resorts and room categories fill up faster than others. As Tammy originally posted, the discounted amounts will decrease after January 22, so the sooner the better!

I always purchase the dining plan, just surprised it's the better deal this time around. The past 3 years the better deal has been the discount but it was 35%. I think POFQ is only 20% for the same timeframe. I would agree the increase price of the dining plan and the lower room discount made the dining plan a better deal.

We're looking at the Poly in August - room only?, flexable dates. We're AP holders but won't renew until just before the trip. Anyway, will keep our eyes open for the when the discounts are published.

This makes me want to possibly book a short trip at BI/YC/BC.. Maybe the money fairy will visit me at Christmas. After all, I need to get as much use out of my AP that I will be purchasing in March!

As long as there's availability, then yes you can. It's unlikely that another big discount will come out for the same time frame, but not impossible. I would definitely book this just in case nothing else comes out.

Thanks Tammy. Yea, I figure the chances are slim for another discount, but I just wanted to make sure I could still change the reservation if something like that were to happen.

at first glance i was disapointed for about 5 seconds lol ( only 20% off?) then i did the math, called them up and its 200 bucks cheaper for our whole package! In the grand scheme of things compared with the whole price, it doesnt seem like much, but like you said, with the economy still up in the air, anything is better than nothing! that 200 can be put towards our flights, souveniers, or just put back in the piggy bank lol....149 days to go!!!!!

I'll be there in 146 days!! Maybe our paths will cross!

Quite a bit so. It is the one resort on property where the view is absolutely critical.

I want to book Port Orleans Riverside (new suites) for early May but we've held off because I figured free dining was absolutely the best way to save money (were foodies!) Does anyone think a free dining offer for that time will come out or no? Should I just book it with this new offer? :shrug:

I'd book now. I kind of doubt there will be free dining too, I think this is it for a while. You can always switch if it does come out.

Having said that, I'm not sure I've seen any of the new rooms on this discount. That doesn't mean there aren't any, but none have popped up for me yet. Someone else may have seen them.

I got a pin in the mail last week, but the booking window ends on 3/31, which is one month too early for us.
