How about just serving cream soda in chilled frosty mugs?

It looks like beer but is much more family friendly. :D

you mean... Butterbeer?

I noticed this photo just released by Disney for Cars Land seems to show how they use trees to scale the rockwork. I remember last year Disney had some wooden temporary trees on the B&TB rock work, so I assume we'll be seeing something very similar to this in the near future show up.

Yeah, I fully expect they will add trees like this to the B&TB mountain.

A little off topic, but looking at all the pictures of Carsland I am really impressed with how amazing it looks, especially that rock work. Can't wait to see it this summer in person.

Personally I think it's bullhonkey that you can't get wine and beer in MK. I understand the hard stuff, but really, it's 2012. Time to change the rules.

Completely disagree! I don't understand people who get upset that they can't have alcohol. Sounds like they have bigger problems in their life and they shouldn't be at WDW.

Hah, you completely disagree with each other but I agree with both of you. It is silly that you can't get beer or wine at MK. And it's also silly to get upset about the fact that you can't get beer or wine at MK.

You will never see alcohol at the Magic Kingdom.
A Walt rule.

He was dead when the place opened. He could no more make the rule for MK then he could for DLP or TDL. And as you know, alcohol is now available at DLP.

Don't get me wrong -- I don't think we'll see alcohol at MK, but that's because TWDC has made it a rule, not because Walt made a rule 5 years before it opened.

A couple of things: the West Wing is still very much alive and well. I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't an official Disney video soon showing the animatronics in Enchanted Tales with Belle. We don't serve alcohol at the Magic Kingdom. Just wait until the menu for Gaston's comes out, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

You've got my curiosity piqued. Thanks for the confirmation on the West Wing.

Not heard about why the original deal for the Saint Louis land fell through, have you? Walt wasn't going to sell beer in the Magic Kingdom, and that was back in...what, like 64 or 65? Yes, it was a Walt thing.

I saw a video not long ago showing Walt and the head of Anheuser-Busch having a meeting about building WDW in St. Louis, and the Busch guy asked Walt in a scandalized way, "You're NOT going to serve alcohol in the park?" and Walt said, "No, no, definitely not!" So yeah, Walt set that rule. Don't know if that had anything to do with the park being built elsewhere, though; I thought the reason was because there wasn't enough land available...

I don't believe Saint Louis would have been home to something like what became WDW, but it was supposed to be home to some kind of park, until Busch made that comment at dinner the night before the paper work was to be signed.

I wasn't saying that Walt didn't have that rule. I know he did. What I was pointing out is that all of Walt's rules were free to be overturned once he was no longer in charge -- that is, when he passed. So we didn't have alcohol in Disneyland through 1966 (save Club 33) because of Walt's rule. We haven't had it since then because TWDC has chosen to continue that rule. But like any other rule Walt made, TWDC can change it.

I just can't wait until Fantasyland is complete and my kids can experience it. Alcohol doesn't matter to me, all that matters is that our family enjoys our vacation.
