New Crypt Queue in Haunted Mansion-What do you think?

I don't know...I don't want to sound like a hater because I am not against plussing things if it is a good kind of change but The Mansion is a retirement home for the post living. The Ghost host explains this and how all the ghosts have flocked from around the world and different time periods to be there. What we are seeing is most of these iconic ghosts getting headstones and crypts more than ever. To be that is a step away from the safe haven retirement scaring for ghosts than anything.

Well, there are almost a thousand ghosts in the HM. Even if a dozen or two dozen of them have headstones and crypts outside (and therefore are "local" ghosts), that still leaves the vast majority -- well over 900 -- as being from around the world and different time periods...

Does anyone think that the Queue could help make the post show go a by slower? I feel like they have been rushing it more and more these days. I would love to spend more time with Master Gracie's portrait and in the Stretching room. Even if it just means being in the dark a bit longer. It has been so fast that my eyes are not even adjusted to the dark by the time I get on the ride. That is a problem.

Holey moley. Color me extremely intrigued, and very very relieved. This looks amazing!

I've been tentatively planning a trip to WDW in April, but now I think I'll hold off until I hear the date for the reveal of the Mansion's latest "plussing". I've got to see it in person!

I agree. I made a similar statement here some months ago. Indeed it's a great shame - that picture in the foyer is the first scene of the Mansion's story, and it helps set the mood. I hate that guests are rushed past it. What if guests were similarly rushed through the library in the Tower of Terror before Rod Serling finishes speaking? Way to break the suspension of disbelief!

I hope you're right - that the new queue will help remedy that in some way.

It would have to! Why else make it longer, heavily detailed and interactive? The ride is almost always a walk on. It would only make more sense to let us breathe when we wake in the door. Glad you agree.

This really looks amazing! I am very excited to see what's to come! I do hope they have a little path just for those tombstones so we can still see them at least lol I cannot wait to see the finished product of this new queue.... Who knew that we all would be this excited for a queue lmao

All I keep thinking is "I'm so excited to wait on line"! :lookaroun

Suggestion!

Yes, the aging portrait is awesome and missing it is no fun sometimes. Unfortunately, on busy days, a lot of people have to get in and some aren't going to see it.

However, it's an easy fix if you DO want to see the aging man. If you get to the end of the queue, and the doors are open, step aside and stand by the waste cans. If it's busy, the guests behind you will appreciate getting in a little quicker, and your wait will only be a couple of minutes longer. Then you'll get to see the full aging sequence!

If it's not busy, just explain to the Cast Member, they'll understand.

I'm super excited for this! The HM is my favorite ride at MK and the new queue looks amazing. Question though. Is there still a headstone for Mr. Toad? I can't remember if that's still there or if they took it out before the plussing.

Mr Toad statue is in the Pet Cemetery near the exit. None of that area has been touched.

I saw Mr. Toad's statue in the pet cemetary a few weeks ago. The irony of him being there still makes me laugh.

and who said wdw did'nt get anything? A great attraction just gets better!!!

Yeah, it's one ride that doesn't really need the attention.

I'll happily accept the HM upgrades, but why can't we get standard upgrades at the other attractions, too? Who cares about Next-Gen when the animatronics don't even move properly?

Will the hitchhikers get to sit with the Guests again??! It seemed from the video that they were not. Am I missing something?

In that video it is what is currently up while construction and upgrades continue. Not sure what the final project will be but I don't doubt they're improving the way the ghosts will sit (and interact) with you.

Right now everything is temporary :)

The problem lies in how slowly the guests move, really. The stretching rooms and foyer are on continuous loops. They go 24/7. The maids and butlers sync the guests up with the show, and unless you are the first person in the room, or the guests move exceptionally fast, you are unfortunately going to miss Master Gracey's transformation. After that, the maids and butlers only have a certain amount of time to get everyone in the room before the doors close and the room will automatically begin to stretch. If they aren't all in, the room will still stretch, and the illusion/effect will be ruined, hence the rushing ;-)

So, if anything, it's going to get worse. Because either a) people will be too distracted with the new queue elements and they won't be moving quickly, or b) with wheelchairs and ecvs coming through stretches now, traffic will generally be slower.

I depends on what the interactive elements are. If they're simple things like touch a button and somthing happens, then the line might keep moving regularly. But if its somthing like video games (like SM) or play equipment (like Pooh) THEN they'd be too distracted to keep moving.
