Why does an imagineer bother with manhole covers indeed? Because that's the Disney difference. Remarkable attention to quality and detail.

Once upon a time, WDW attracted an audience to whom 'more Disney' meant exactly this. More detail, better theming. But is all that needed for the throngs of drunk louts who have flocked to EPCOT? Arguably not. Does one really need more than a big sign directing the mass to a through to feed themselves in between getting a margarita and a selfie with a toon?

Meanwhile in 1982, CM's had to learn what a Mansard roof is, and a dormer, and who some of the French architects were whose work was Disneyfied (≠ 'adding characters') for EPCOT. To give meaningful answers to its discerning guests...

Nope. But the back and forth is tiresome.
Ummm, welcome to an internet forum? Not trying to be snarky, but isn't "the back and forth" part of discussion? If you don't care for it or would rather not participate, it's simple.....don't.
Ok??
What we need more manholes in Epcot?
Disneyland Paris is better than WDW in Orlando?
A blogger likes manhole covers??
If you like manhole covers you can't possibly like the crepeteria building?
What's the connection? Was this to prove that you think the crepeteria will be ugly??

Nice article though, when I go outside again I'll make sure to check out the manholes??
Eddie Sotto is about as far from a blogger as one can be. Please do research before jumping to such disrespectful conclusions.
The issue is that it has very obvious architectural errors.
This.

"Lecture" is over.

Looks like you can make out the crepe location in the new aerials from @wdwmagic and what appears to be an open patio facing the water (both under Skyliner).
