New costume for Star Tours

I worked for them for 9 years, I was surrounded in her vision for longer than a sane person should be. And I have seen the evolution of her designs, if there really was one.

Logistically they would need to figure out how to keep the outfits lit for 4 ro 5 hours, when all they could do in the movie was 15 minutes before changing batteries.

I do see them only using reflective strips with a dark cloth outfit, which would just kill the illusion we saw in the films.

This guy was able to get his setup to run for 4.5 hours.

If anyone could do it, it would be Disney. But something tells me the union wouldn't allow them to wear skintight clothing connected to a battery pack.

UNIONS! (shakes fist angrily)

The cost to maintain an entire attraction's worth of costumes that would include light-up clothing would be ridiculous. Not to mention the problems that costuming would encounter when time comes to wash those costumes.

Hahahaha, absolutely. Thats a fairly obvious detail we overlooked.

Isn't that why they have the cp :D ? I think that the outfits would be fitted but not skintight. The only good thing for any CMs wearing these outfits would be that they will mostly be in AC for most of the time.

I think that CMs would wear something like underarmor underneath to wick any moisture away to keep the costumes cleaner. Disney could have the electronics waterproofed, so the costume can be dry cleaned.

Armor + skintight costume + battery pack = lawsuits waiting to happen.

First off, armor would be super hot outside in 90 degree weather and of course, you couldn't take it off. Second, skintight costumes are too risque for a Disney attraction and they would stick to someone sweltering in 90+ degree heat and humidity. Third, a battery pack is impractical for an operation of that size.

I essentially see the effect of these costumes to be: lots of CMs passing out outside, guest complaints about revealing costumes and a light up effect that rarely works.

Athletes wear under armour, so CMs wouldn't get super hot in them while they are in an AC showbuilding. Also I said that the outfits would be fitted, not skin tight. Guest complaints wouldn't be a reason for that, it is the cost of having a costume tailored to be used by only one CM. If guests complained about revealing costumes, then spirit of aloha would look so much different.

Don't forget that there are also a few outdoor positions for this attraction.

Having fitted costumes would just cost way too much when you factor in how many people are actually trained at a single attraction (full time, part time, seasonal, CP) and that cast members come and go at attractions very frequently.

True there will be a couple of CMs at the entrance, but sunlight during the day will wash out the illuminated effect. These CMs can wear the same style shirt as the other CMs but have reflectors without the need for under armour.

Fitted shirt instead of a baggy shirt.
