New contemporary rooms!

These rooms look fantastic! I will definitely have to stay at the Contemporary next year. And I like that the Contemporary Resort decor does not scream Disney. I don't want it to. There is no mistaken when you look out the window, turn on the tv, flip through the hotel guide or walk down the hallway overlooking the Grand Canyon Concourse that you are at WDW. And for those who did not hear yet, the Polynesian is also getting a new room design (and flat screen tv's) as well. The Polynesian renovation will be taking place through summer 2006.

And one last tidbit - Some asked in a previous quote wy it was called the Grand Canyon Concourse. That is because when you are standing on the floor in the concourse area you are supposed to get the feel of being in the Grand Canyon with the huge walls of the hotel soaring above you.

Wow, definitely an upscale improvement. It actually looks both Contemporary and like a deluxe resort for once. Hopefully this much needed improvement will be integrated soon.

I must admit though, I really see a rate increase upon the horizon.

Also, when the appropriate lighting is on and working, the levels of the tower on the inside are light to be different colored and evoke the strata of the canyon. Hopefully this effect will return or be tweaked/improved when the resort gets its full makeover.

I like them very much but there are a few things that I would have done differently. For one if they are going to remodel then I think they should do every inch of the resort. They seem to be doing most of the room even the vanity area but keeping the same marble tiles, and I presume toilet and shower. I would also have done the daybed and tv area differently as well. It seems oriental to me.

Looks awesome:cool:. I don't need Mickey heads all over my room to remind me that I am in Disney. The renovated Poly room also looks great! I wonder if the rooms rates are going to raise?

I've never understood how the contemporary was a deluxe. It was always so....plain. This remodel solidly cements that designation.

Yes -- Here are what the Polynesian rooms will be once refurbished. Very elegant look with nice color tones. Both of these reorts are in need of these changes!

I noticed that when we were there. I think it looks very....flat. But I guess it's a huge improvement over the big green pillar that was there. Although now if I was working, I couldn't say, "Go to the big green pillar and take a left!" to get to the Convention Center. :)

I love the new rooms though. Very elegant. I like what they've done there. :lookaroun
