New contemporary rooms!

WOW. It's looking a little futuristic again

care to elaborate on the changes they've made to the lobby?

New Check-In/Guest Services ("Concierge") signs, red wall behind front desk now a light mauve/brown color, large green column behind Mickey and Leopold statue is now a muted brown, the coffee shop got a new menu (not new items, just a new menu design), some other walls that used to be green/purple are now the same muted brown color. Minor changes, but if you stared at the lobby every day for 5 months like I did, you notice. Probably just to walk through you wouldn't notice a lot of change, it's just more bland now. (note: bland does not necessarily equal bad :animwink: ) :wave:

Well..the phrase "Contemporary" undergoes different meanings as trends change. I'd say its living up to its namesake with this redesign....Now if we can put the "Tomorrow" back into Tomorrowland I'd be happy! :lol:

those rooms look fabulous! if i end up getting enough money to book a stay there, i most *certainly* will. now it looks like a deluxe resort. very, very nice indeed. thanx so much for the pics!

WOW! Those rooms sure are sleek and sophisticated. See, I would MUCH rather stay in a tastefully done room like this then something like the Value resorts. :lookaroun

I wonder if any other resorts are set to get makeovers like this. I hope so.

The Polynesian is getting a similar makeover, featuring all-new furniture, flat screen TVs, etc. There were pictures up on some web page but the web page is now shut down. It holds true to the same Polynesian theme, but is much nicer looking.

The mock room is currently in the south wing. All of the rooms will be remodled, tower and wings. :wave:

Thanks ddank for the link, been umm and aaing between the contempory or the polynesian but that has made up my mind - contempory here I come (next year anyway!!), looks very chic.

I'd wonder if the rates for the Poly and Contemp. will be increasing. The rooms look so much better, yet I'd hope the rates would stay the same. They still make a killing per room.

I will staying in the tower in late december, hopefully my room will have the upgrade..

I now can't wait to stay at the contemporary. I stayed there many years ago and felt all the furnishings were worn and old.

I doubt it. It was just renovated about 5 years ago.
