well to me it looks like crap and as soon as i head down their im going to tell them that. it should be blue short sleeve t shirts with the micky logo with Walt Disneyworld on it. then long sleeves in the winter with maybe the same dark blue plus the coats would be the same.

Cartoony? You want cartoony? Check out the medieval getups they put the Character Hosts in at Disneyland!

I dont think there bad, they match pretty well with the character there with usually the princesses.

Heres a few more new and old.

Theres also another one similar to the WDW Main Street PAC costume only a red vest.

I never liked the yellow ones at WDW but the new ones seem like they would be a major step down. I wish WDW would go the route DLR has, both the character and attendant match each other and help the story come to life that much more.

Don't get me wrong, I like the medieval look the Disneyland Character Hosts have. It's just so goofy and silly, but it works. And I love the classic Disneyland "D" on their chests that no other Disneyland style theme park in the Disney Empire gets to use.

That's one thing I notice about WDW vs. Disneyland; the Character Hosts. They seem to go with generic blanket uniforms at WDW, regardless of which Character they are escorting and interacting with. But at Disneyland you see a more themed uniform, and lots of different types of uniforms, with the Characters out in the park.

I think it might go both ways at DLR a greatly themed one matching the character and then the more plain one like the red vest ones or this, but I guess of there going to be with so many different characters it might work out better. but yea the medieval one is a bit goofy but it defiantly works.

For me, the "generic" costume helps call out their function, so that when they are moving everyone around to get them into a line or whatever, it doesn't look like some random person. I like the yellow/black costumes; this seems like a silly (i.e., costly, unnecessary) change right now.

A lot of costumes seem to be going to a less themed more uniform look. It probably cost a lot less to get plain blue shirts as opposed to custom made shirts with Mickey patterns.

And we have a winner. Blue is more pleasant to look at, which is probably why they changed the color. But I'd bet my parents' fortune that this is more a financial move than anything else.

Make sure to be polite, or else they won't take you seriously. It'd be a shame to take time out of your vacation to be all  or :( but because you're so  you don't make sense and then they're all :veryconfu and you're all :brick: and then they get all  and just pat you on the head and walk away and nothing will change and you won't be able to :sohappy: for fixing such a :hammer: decision!

Khaki pants = blech. :hurl:

I loathe khaki. I know it is supposedly more "professional" looking but I think it is the stupidest idea for front line workers. It is so hard to keep clean and few people look good in it. This new blue shirt sounds pretty boring too. I don't think there was anything wrong with the current costume either. The yellow was a little bright but at least the attendants were easy to find.

I don't mind khaki pants per se.

However, they are no more than glorified jeans. But that's a business dress issue.

I will say, that whoever designed the pattern for the dream squad pants seems to have no inkling about human anatomy. Those pants just look horrible.

I did not find a problem with the old costuming either, but I don't take this change as any big deal.

I wonder if this isn't somehow related to the character boxes at DHS. The boxes are supposed to help crowd control and keep lines in order. So I wonder if this isn't to make the character attendants look more important and/or manager-like. As such, some people may take them a bit more seriously when they try to do their job.

So WDW goes from bland costumes (except AK), to fun costumes (the yellow/anim print), to bland again.

Gotta love cycles.

I'm no fan of the yellow/black/white ensemble but the blue and khaki uniform looks so... unDisney-ish. I don't think a matching costume is necessary (but those examples were cute!), just something that looks a little more magical and creative than a typical managerial outfit.
