You surely are not describing Anyone who works in the military - demanding higher pay and breaking the rules . Try that garbage and face the music.
Huh, weird:

https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/...ers-want-from-the-upcoming-pay-benefit-study/
"Senior enlisted leaders across the services hope to secure pay raises for midlevel enlisted troops and to improve benefits like the housing allowance as part of a sweeping study of how the U.S. compensates its service members.

That effort comes amid complaints from some enlisted airmen that the Air Force’s plan to slow the rate of midlevel promotions will end up hurting their wallets in a tumultuous economy."

By the way, still no response on participation awards being around since the 20s?

Anyway I’m not against paying lowly paid, front line workers more.

I’m not either but people need to understand these are always going to be ”low” paid jobs no matter how high the wage goes.

We were talking about CAs $20 fast food wage last night and were laughing because it’s now higher than health care workers, who’s going to work in a hospital for $18 an hour when they can flip burgers for $20? All the other jobs wages will inevitably go up, along with prices, and the minimum wage employees will still be the lowest paid, and will still be struggling.

Minimum wage should be adjusted to an inflation adjusted average (about $13) and then tied to inflation, raising it every couple years trying to make it a living wage is a dog chasing his tail, no matter how high they raise it it will never be a living wage because everything else will increase also.

Dog chasing his tail!

Odd, I've played sports, been in clubs, organizations from a tot to college and have never been given a " participation award " just for showing up but thanks for the info!

1920's participation trophy comment:

I think parenting skills have changed a bit since then.

But the facts are, they have been given out for a century. So they did in fact "Exist in your time"

I get that entirely and honestly agree with you. But the facts still stand Disney could not attract enough workers with its pay and its former dress code/appearance policy. They either had to jettison the ‘Disney Look’ rules or increase pay. They chose the appearance side.

$18/hr healthcare jobs are entry level housekeeping/custodial positions. In CA, if you are a CEO of a fastfood establishment and know the right people, you can get an exemption.

Why are we comparing military service to sprinkling pixie dust on your ride vehicle before entering Peter Pan?
While we’re using the military comparison, I’d like to go back to the participation trophy comment real quick.

Because there’s a war America lost in the 70’s, and a lot of people flaunt their participation in said war. Seems like a participation trophy to me just sayin’

One option is work OT , part time job or create a side hustle or apply for promotion opportunities, reevaluate spending lifestyle. A number of ways to increase income but requires a new mindset and sacrifice.

Part of that is changing times. Allowing men to wear the same jewelry and hair styles as women is a cultural change and tattoos are becoming more popular.

The extreme nail polish colors, and jewelry still baffles me since hardly anyone is going to take a job or not because of that and there isn’t any cultural reason to allow more jewelry.

Cast are struggling to make ends meet but still have cash to buy extreme nail colors, tattoos and more jewelry ?🤔
