NEW Canada 360 and Seas paint!

It's About Time!

This is great news. I was there in late July and took my cousin and his fiance to see that. He laughed the whole time cause it was the same one he saw when he went 15 years ago. In terms of the song, we have many artists that could redo the song or make a new one. I hate to say it but Celine Dion, even the Barenaked Ladies, etc. As long as I get "Canadaaaaa, My Canada.." out of my head. Heck next time you're there, when they fly over Toronto, it's just the CN Tower. T Dot has grown since then. LOL
Take Care every one and hope this comes true!

What puzzle me is the OP says :

"According to the British Columbia Film Commission, filming will be taking place next week in B.C. for a new Circlevision film for Epcot's Canada pavilion."

Would that be like a USA travelogue filmed entirely in Oregon?

Glad you said something. I was wondering about that myself.
And if they use the old film for the rest of the country it would look like only B.C. has changed any in the past 20 years. Its probably some tourism group's conspiracy.:lookaroun

We were at Disney during August and I asked one of the CMs about a new film and he said that a new one would be ready for spring 2007.

I read in my Epcot book that it took over two years to make the old Canada film. Is it possible that they could finish it for next spring?

Were they referring to the original Expo '67 film ?

I wouldn't doubt that it took 2 years in 1967 to complete !

doubtfull that the new film would be 18 minutes long...probably closer to the 10-12 that the new China film is....

I'm not passing "full" judgement until it's finished, but.. the blue on the exterior looks like crap. Its just hideous to me thus far.

The mural - it's ok. I kinda like it, not a bad change at all, i can totally cope and even say it's aesthetically pleasing...

The rest? right now.. eww.. But it's not done, so i sit and wait, hope it's not done. Hehe :)

Canada 360...Seas paint...Canada 360...Seas paint...

Back and forth. Back and forth.

This thread is becoming too schizophrenic for me!

It's ABOUT time. I don't even bother watching any of them anymore. They are so boring.

The China film is excellent and really shows the changes in China and the amazing diffrences in such a large country with so much history. The Canada one I have watched once and it is so dated which is always the way with live action films which is a reason they are not so suited to a themepark that is not willing to update them every 5 or so years. I wouldn't say they are boring unless you are absolutely cultureless and have no concept of the world outside your own country :hammer:

I'm so happy they are going to be making a new Canada film.. I am so proud to be canadian but was a little embarassed at how outdated the film was the last time we saw it.. My husband and I laughed at half the movie, just because of the wardrobe... Although I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, it really needs a change... Can't wait to see it the next time we're there......

This only says they're filming in BC for those dates, they may very well have been filming in other areas and we just haven't heard of it till now. Also, I'm sure our film processing techniques have developed quite a bit in the last 25 years so it shouldn't take 2 years any longer. I'm slowly getting more and more excited for Epcot's 25th. I think we're actually going to see something with all the rumors we keep hearing.

Regarding the time frame; they could be re-shooting only certain scenes, and keeping non-dated scenes from the original too, as Reflections of China did.

Ah, but was the Norway film rumor backed up by a Norwegian Film Company website?

Check out the British Columbia Film Commission website...http://www.bcfilmcommission.com/news/film_lists.php?id=11&press=1&draw_column=3:1:2
Sounds promising!

Check back to post #10, we beat Screamscape by a day with that info.:drevil:
Wow! Does this mean that I finally contributed something to the forums that's more than just filler? It only took me 650+ posts! :hammer:
