No, palm trees and trees in a wooded forest will clash.

Agreed. They would not fit with the other mini lands or even LM for that matter.

This is not a tropical setting...

Isn't this a palm tree?

Isn't Pooh's playground moving a bit east to compensate for Cinderella taking over that area?

Pooh's playground isn't "moving" anywhere as far as I know- it's getting demolished completely (or almost completely). There's going to be a meet and greet, but it's hardly the size of the Carousel or Mad Tea Party, which is small compared to the current Pooh's Playful Spot. The showbuilding takes up most of the space and there's simply no place to move the playground, nor do plans to move it exist. (Unless, of course, you're referring to the M&G.)

I see palm trees in that picture. It may not seem tropical but the entire movie would have to take place somewhere warm, possibly subtropical. Or maybe the area isn't supposed to evoke any one place at all.

Comments/Questions I put in bold.

While 2011 may seem a bit closer than expected, they will also be ordering duplicate items for both DCA's and MK's. I'm really thinking that may try and push for an opening day of 10/1/11, however, that doesn't mean it will be accomplished.

What is exactly inaccurate? Are you talking about how there will be a "new M&G" area since Pooh's Playful Spot will be part of the Cinderella area?

I defiantly have to agree here. There is absolutely no space for Mickey and Minnie to be inside Fantasy Forest, nor would it theme well. And as you said, why would Imagineers design Barnstormer as a Circus theme when PH will be right in the middle (between Dumbo & Barnstormer). Even using the train station as a bridge is quite the stretch. It would make more sense if the Barnstormer area was themed to PH.

I'm not saying it is impossible that it won't open for 2011, however that's contrary to what we've been told all along, as we're told it was to open in 2012 or 2013. I'd assume that a good amount of prop work and such is already done for TLM, as there were already plans to have a Mermaid-themed E-ticket for years. Check out the bonus features of The Little Mermaid DVD- there's even a virtual ride-through. However, I just doubt that the farthest corner of Fantasyland will be the only thing open while everything else is under construction. Plus, just look at the show building for TLM- the facade and waterfalls will take quite a bit of time. Considering they haven't broken ground yet (and aren't going to for a while, as we've heard) I believe it's unlikely we'll see TLM open in October of next year, but that's just my conjecture.

Regarding the Winnie the Pooh area, I admit I kind of made much ado about nothing. I was not a fan of how what was posted about the Meet and Greet was worded. It said that Pooh's Playful Spot would be "replaced" by a meet and greet. I pointed out that only a slim fraction of Pooh's Playful Spot was still going to be Pooh themed, so nothing is really going to be "replaced" in essence. My apologies for the confusion.

How about Disney solves the problem of all this wasted space by having the characters meet and greet you instead of you meeting and greeting them? What a revolutionary idea! :hammer:

Those aren't palm trees. I'm fairly certain that the setting is not tropical. And certainly Denmark is not tropical. I'll look into it.

Well, yes, Hans Christian Anderson was from Denmark. But all of his stories did not necessarily take place in Denmark.

And I'm pretty sure those ARE palm trees!

Sorry, I've seen the artwork and it is clear they are not. Perhaps Disney thought not having a few palm tree looking trees would confuse people. But the main part of the story is not a tropical setting. You can follow the link to the main page and there are hundreds af screen captures. Very much looks like a baltic setting. Funny that you see those as palm trees. I don't.

I will be really surpirsed if Jaq and Gus Gus are out for meet n greets with Cinderella. I would love for them to be, but I really doubt it will happen.

I'm pretty sure those are palm trees... I even got a second opinion from someone else in my house.

^This is not, I repeat not a palm tree.

^ Doesn't seem very Baltic to me.

I doubt The Little Mermaid was to take place in a certain geographic area. Just look at the stills jt04 provided. Find me somewhere in the world with a rocky shoreline cliffs, beaches, palm trees, dense vegetation, backwater bayous, waterfalls (in the same area) and I'll buy you an Icee.

Again the palm trees appear during a dream. The others are very poorly defined or are used as a foreshadowing element. We really need to hear from someone who worked on the film.

TLM takes place in Europe though. Somewhere in Europe. And they will probably use generic plants to convey a tropical setting. Just my guess.

Aurora's Meet-and-Greet: On their way to Aurora's cottage, guests will pass through a thicket and a dark forest that somehow manages to tell the story of Maleficent battling Prince Philip. The meet-and-greet itself will feature the three fairies (Flora, Fauna, Merryweather), allow children to make birthday cards for Aurora, and end with a sixteenth-birthday party for the princess and her guests. The party will feature a surprise of some sort.
:sohappy::sohappy::sohappy: So awesome! Hope this is true! That would be amazing! I've always wanted to meet the three fairies as well as hopefully a meet and greet with Maleficent. So awesome that Disney is hopefully going to include other characters associated with their associated princess.

I hope the fairies "clean up" and that isn't cut. This could be a very cool special effect!
