Wow....

That looks Terrible.
As in, several generations behind what you see at "Walking with Dinosaurs" or even Japanese wrestling shows.
What's with the visible hinges on the legs? And it appears to have hard plastic instead of anything resembling skin. Was this done for cost or weight-saving purposes?

I suddenly miss Conniesaurus

Yep it's a pile of steaming suckage. My guess is they went cheap for the test. If it seems to be a hit they will spend the money for the high quality version.

I should probably reserve judgment until I see video of the puppet in motion, but man, this thing is just embarrassing.
It isn't even hobbyist-level.
You can buy better suits off the shelf from China right now: http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/dinosaur-costume.html

I love how the little kid in the spider-man shirt can't take his eyes off the puppeteer's legs.
Shouldn't he at least be wearing look-away-gray like the Walking With Dinosaurs pros do?

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Just a thought, could they possibly be testing this type of puppet for Pandora as well?
Good thinking. I know they were planning on something not dissimilar for the Na'vi. I only pray they'll put some EFFORT and INNOVATION into those costumes.

Oh God, I just noticed how the shoulders (are not) attached.

I feel like this is true of many Disney projects nowadays. I feel like the average ComicCon cosplayer or DeviantArt artist does better work than the parks do these days.

Maybe all their best costume people put all their recent effort into Festival of Fantasy.
There's still people in the company that can and do deliver the goods.

It is a test, and if it proves a dud it will never be seen again.

Perhaps you're right, but what are they testing? Unless I'm missing something the suit is exceedingly crude and and simple compared to techniques several other outfits have been using successfully for this very application for years. I can't think of a technical reason they would need to expose the public to something this janky.
Are they just testing the logistics of where and when the character would appear in the land?
