Outside of Pixar, when is the last time the company had a successful new idea?

It still ties in to the movies dinosaurs species and theme, but the characters and plot have no connection. Except for the Aladar statue outside!
Ok, I'll buy this one.Wreck It Ralph was an entirely new idea and was a modest success.
Based on a story by Hans Christian Anderson - I said original.

It was also marketed primarily from the angle of being "Roger Rabbit, but with Video Games". They put the cameos front and center in the marketing even though they were primarily there to add authenticity to the setting rather then playing major roles.Wreck It Ralph was an entirely new idea and was a modest success.
While you're right, and in fact warping ideas from the story into a princess narrative lead to like a million plot holes, there's a little more then you'd think at first. Elsa as a composite Kai/Snow Queen, Anna=Gerda and the reindeer aside, apparently Hans was developed with the idea of the demon mirror from the story in mind, an idea which ended up catching on over on Tumblr. There's little to nothing of "The Snow Queen" left in Frozen.

You sure as heck aren't gonna find the character I posted in there.
By your standards, Toy Story is a direct ripoff of The Brave Little Toaster.

Well, it's a good thing that Muppet Movies are pretty low-budget affairs. Now, now, don't meme the messenger.

AND ETC.
You know, you and the other guy needn't act like I'm trying to bait you when I say something like that. Believe me, I have better things to do. I say it because it's the truth. With the latest film a failure, there's plenty of evidence to support my contention and precious little to oppose it. So get over it. After all, it could be a good thing. If the Star Wars purchase turns out to be a similar fumble, maybe Iger and/or his successor will think: "Gee, maybe we'd be better off investing in new characters and ideas, instead of just buying old ones." That would be much more in line with the Disney legacy than turning the company into the Old Played-Out Has-Been Characters Home. Think about it.
You're right, video game characters coming to life is nothing like toys coming to life.Wreck It Ralph was an entirely new idea and was a modest success.
I see more of that old subgenre of Looney Tunes short where book characters come to life at night in Wreck-It RalphYou're right, video game characters coming to life is nothing like toys coming to life.
And nothing like a princess coming to life. You're right, video game characters coming to life is nothing like toys coming to life.
Uh...The Carnotaurus....Hello..The only big reason that it makes the ride more thrilling...

Sorry, not exactly. The film tie-in overlay was added separately afterwards. The footage was early footage that was repurposed for the attraction since it was available (and free) and was ultimately used for the film, but at that point there was no certainty of the film's success (or release, even). CTX was not advance planned promotion with relation to the movie. CTX was developed separately, and when certain personnel moved from WDFA to WDI, the dinosaurs were changed and ended up being the same as the movie's for various reasons. There was some synergy, but not in the way you're thinking. It was ultimately thought they might compliment each other, and could potentially be used together, but the development of the ride was a separate track than the feature. We've been over this, Countdown to Extinction was always about the movie, hence the Iguanodon (using animation of Aladar from the film in the preshow since day one) and Carnotaurus. Plus Disney's had a history of using the parks to promote movies years in advance: Just look at Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Jim Henson's Secret Life of Toys from 1994 (Which was a Holiday Special called The Christmas Toy before the series began and it had a very similar Plot)...One year Prior to Toy Story..And this Aired on Disney Channel.
