This!!!

Outside of Pixar, when is the last time the company had a successful new idea?

Wreck It Ralph was an entirely new idea and was a modest success.
It was also marketed primarily from the angle of being "Roger Rabbit, but with Video Games". They put the cameos front and center in the marketing even though they were primarily there to add authenticity to the setting rather then playing major roles.

There's little to nothing of "The Snow Queen" left in Frozen.
While you're right, and in fact warping ideas from the story into a princess narrative lead to like a million plot holes, there's a little more then you'd think at first. Elsa as a composite Kai/Snow Queen, Anna=Gerda and the reindeer aside, apparently Hans was developed with the idea of the demon mirror from the story in mind, an idea which ended up catching on over on Tumblr.

You sure as heck aren't gonna find the character I posted in there.
By your standards, Toy Story is a direct ripoff of The Brave Little Toaster.

I asked the question, and so I get to define the standards. And the winner is "Wreck it Ralph". So there...

AND ETC.

You know, you and the other guy needn't act like I'm trying to bait you when I say something like that. Believe me, I have better things to do. I say it because it's the truth. With the latest film a failure, there's plenty of evidence to support my contention and precious little to oppose it. So get over it. After all, it could be a good thing. If the Star Wars purchase turns out to be a similar fumble, maybe Iger and/or his successor will think: "Gee, maybe we'd be better off investing in new characters and ideas, instead of just buying old ones." That would be much more in line with the Disney legacy than turning the company into the Old Played-Out Has-Been Characters Home. Think about it.
Well, it's a good thing that Muppet Movies are pretty low-budget affairs.

It's also been covered in some other thread that a lot of the problems with the Muppets marketing amounted to a emphasis on Social Media while pretty much all the adspace on TV and the Meatspace was covered by Sherman and Peabody, which was successful enough for Dreamworks that they're making a movie out of another obscure cartoon character that nobody's used in years: Hot Stuff from the Casper cartoons.

Jim Hill did a great piece on Beastly Kingdom a while ago (it was a 3 part piece that I'll link to below). In short, because of the movie Dinoland was given priority and Beastly Kingdom was to move to a Phase 2. Initially, the plan was to have Beastly Kingdom be one of the responses to IOA, but when IOA opened with some similar concepts to what Beastly Kingdom would have been it was shelved. Add in the fact that IOA didn't really move the needle and the need for an expansion to DAK wasn't that big a priority.

The other interesting thing here is say they went with Beastly Kingdom from the outset and not Dinosaur. I wonder if there would be a Dinoland at all, or at the very least a DINOSAUR attraction. The Excavator might have been the anchor of the land, with no Dinorama. It would likely have meant no Expedition Everest as the mythical animals would have been isolated to their own land.

So the question then becomes is it worth getting rid of Dinosaur, Chester and Hester's and Expedition Everest for the Excavataor, Dragon Tower and a B/C mythical animal attraction/walk through?

Uh...The Carnotaurus....Hello..The only big reason that it makes the ride more thrilling...

I wasn't talking about the carnotaurus which in that movie are called carnotaur. Yes it has a carnotaur but it's not the same carnotaur in the movie! That would be ridiculous!

Must you bring this up in every thread you comment on, no mater the content?

Say it with me now...dinosaurs, dinosaurs, dinosaurs.

We've been over this, Countdown to Extinction was always about the movie, hence the Iguanodon (using animation of Aladar from the film in the preshow since day one) and Carnotaurus. Plus Disney's had a history of using the parks to promote movies years in advance: Just look at Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Sorry, not exactly. The film tie-in overlay was added separately afterwards. The footage was early footage that was repurposed for the attraction since it was available (and free) and was ultimately used for the film, but at that point there was no certainty of the film's success (or release, even). CTX was not advance planned promotion with relation to the movie. CTX was developed separately, and when certain personnel moved from WDFA to WDI, the dinosaurs were changed and ended up being the same as the movie's for various reasons. There was some synergy, but not in the way you're thinking. It was ultimately thought they might compliment each other, and could potentially be used together, but the development of the ride was a separate track than the feature.

Bug's Life and Tough to Be a Bug were developed together, however.

To say Frozen is based on the Snow Queen is a bit like saying that the movie The Lawnmower Man is based on the Stephen King short story of the same name.
