I love the idea of turning dinoland into a valley of the gwangi style steam punk area a la discovery bay. It could really fit with the edutainment aspects of AK as well by educating about the great bone hunting days and the changes the railroads brought to the west. A reskin of dinosaur to a steampunk time travel thril ride would be great. If energy is closing at EPCOT move the dinos over and build a rift on natures wonderland- you are on a small train as part of a construction railroad and travel through a lost valley filled with dinos - could be made to be a good family ride with an eco message. A journey to the centre of the earth style ride from Tokyo could also fit here based on the idea of disturbing something during the 49er gold rush (more scope for an eco message on mining and its impact).

I also love the ideas for a jungle book boat ride. I always thought this would be perfect for a splash mountain type ride - Mowgli leaves the man village you float though trust in me with Kaa then meet baloo for bear necessities before a big show stopper of I wanna be like you in king Louie's temple, the beatle buzzards / colonel harts give you a warning before an encounter with sheer Khan and a final drop into my own home which brings you back to the man village, I would love to see this here or in an adventureland of a park without splash mountain

A hanging Pterodactyl coaster through a prehistoric volcano would be a nice edition to Dinoland. This way, they'd finally be able to revisit both the Fire Mountain and Beastly Kingdom Coaster concepts that were never realized. And no...duelling dragons does not count.

Maybe they could give Kali River rapids an actual story by retheming it to Jungle Book? They could even add some length to the overall attraction.

That's what I was thinking. It'd be a way to segment the land away from the others.

It may have been me a couple months back in the tower thread. I remember getting a lot of flak for it :p

I get that people would love to have Mystic Manor in the states but it doesn't belong in Dinoland. Dinosaur is an excellent attraction, one that way too many over look because of Indy is a bit better. Chester and Hester are terrible and need replacement, but they fit better in a place called Dinoland, than Mystic Manor. Together, you have a somewhat of a complete land, even if half of it was built on the cheap.

I've said for years that a Fantasyland-type area (with 4 or 5 dark rides) would be an amazing addition to Animal Kingdom. The rides could be done relatively cheaply (as long as they don't unnecessarily throw $7 mil dollar animatronics like they did at TLM). Rides could be created based on:
    • The Jungle Book
    • Zootopia
    • The Lion King
    • Up!
    • A new story that combines domesticated animals using characters from Bolt, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, Aristocats, etc.

As Epcot stands now, it needs a lot of help. In contrast, most of DAK has kept a unified theme.

But Dinoland doesn't take place in the time of the dinosaurs.

Then why not have the guests travel back in time when they leave the Dino Institute.

Love the idea of Jungle book. People might get upset....but reimagining the kali river rapids with a Jungle book theme would be cool. It could be a little bit of how the ride was first imagined.

FOP wasn't meant to be the headliner?

Granted it is grander than originally planned. Of course it needs that stellar queue since it has to function as the headliner. With the coaster, perhaps the land could have cost...dare to dream...$1.5 billion?

I'll be curious to see how much SWL ends up costing.

I'd hope the coaster wouldn't have cost half a billion but given WDIs spending habits it makes you wonder.

SWL is on budget at the mo I believe.

Would've been a better use of money than the MagicBands and NGE.
