Nemo's Submarine Voyage

Hey I was just watching Disney Channel and a commercial for NSV came up and showed the ride. From what they showed in the commercial it looks just like the Nemo ride in Epcot with the whole image projections into the water. It looks ok definetly not an E ticket but a good mid-level ride. I know this isn't WDW related but I just thought people would want to know about what MK would have gotten if somebody hadn't filled in the lagoon *cough* WDI *cough*.

It's a good e-ticket dark ride. It cost them 150 million to make! (Everest was only 100 million).
The DLC version, not the Epcot version

BTW, jayhawk, don`t blame WDI. They only did what management asked them to do. Blame the MK, Fland and 20K attraction managers.

Yeah I know its not WDI's fault I'm just saying that MK would have most likely had NSV if the lagoon wouldn't have been filled in

ive seen vidoes of nsv and personally i prefer everst... i was at dca a two summers ago. its not that bad. yes it needs help, but it appeals more to adventure/ thrill seeking guests. where as dl right across is for families. either way wdw is better.

Was this a disney 365 or not? Im pretty sure it was because thats how they seem to advertise newer rides now. And they always have to throw in the disney channel "star." I havent been watching DC as much as I used to, I may have to start looking more often.

LOL I haven't been watching much either...however, I have a TiVo that knows I like Disney Channel stuff, and I just looked and my TiVo Suggestions has about 15 episodes of Hannah Montana, and at least a dozen episodes of "That's So Raven", among other things. I almost never have time to watch the TiVo Suggestions, but I'm going to scan through as many of them as I can to see if I can find this. :)

I loved Nemo Subs. I got to go to the party as a Dream Job Winner and it was awesome. Way better than Epcot's version. (I've personally seen each). There are animitronics with the subs as well. Darla is too cute and the diver has the goggles on with P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way Sydney.

Please try and not judge just from a video. I must say, FNSV is probably one of the worst rides to watch a video of. It doesn't do justice to the real thing.

I agree with kennygman, the subs are better than the living seas version.

Ironically, the forum members at the the Disneyland-centric web site think that Epcot's "lighter" version of Nemo is actually a better attraction than the over-emphasized, lengthened version at DL. (Apparently, the projections don't look so great in an actual lagoon.) Search the Micechat forums to see what I'm talking about.

Forget the projections...the disneyland ride has REAL audio animatronics (remember those?) unlike epcot's that has one angler fish and a couple of jelly fish that look like they wre purchased at a local dollar store.

It also has a cohesive story and ties into Tomorrowland and includes plenty of homages to the former attraction...things you will never see in a modern WDW ride (3 Cabelleros, Monsters Inc:Laugh Floor, Stitch escape anyone?)

Does NSV still have some of the older AAs fromthe submarine voyage?

I'd actually like to see WDW give us a version of 20K Leagues from TDS. That is one awesome ride...and here's no water involved, thus no degradation of AAs or ride mechanics.

There aren't any projections in the lagoon. They're all in the show building.

Having buzzed out to LA for the weekend last weekend and getting a couple trips in the subs in, I can also attest it's a solid e-ticket. In my opinion, the angler fish was about the only thing they could have done better. The rest was pretty well done, I thought. While the story was a little lacking (that fish is supposedly lost AGAIN?!?!?!?), it didn't bother me.

And as for wait times... Both times I rode, I got in line at midnight right as the park was closing. Waited 45 minutes the first night, about 30 the second night. The blackout dates for the AP's JUST started, which I believe will lighten that line up a bit as well. There were rumors that the line was supposedly 3 hours during the day, but never once did I see it actually past the 90 minute point. I think there's quite a bit of embellishment going on.

Someone mentioned that they'd rather have Everest than FNSV. I think it's hard to compare the two. There was just something about being able to climb back into a sub at a disney park and spend ALMOST 15 MINUTES slowly working our way through "liquid space" that was just really, really cool. I don't know how you compare that with a high speed, 3 or 4 minute thrill ride.

But I will say this... I sure as heck would take FNSV over Pooh's Playful Spot.
