Except laugh when they get thrown out... hahaha

It's not so bad for Christmas lights and signs and stuff. It's the groups that use soap and/or shoe polish to write on the windows and mirrors.

Oh, I have never seen that. When you said that, I was shocked, because over the holidays, it seemed every room that was occupied at PC had decorations up, and I would of never guessed it was against the rules.

i'm sure for the holidays they make exceptions, especially since holiday decorations tend to be of the non permanent, removable type.

however.. shoe polish is definitely more permanent

I've also dealt with regular guests who have had their doors being knocked on at midnight. I've dealt with the guests that have been having prank phone calls.

When I went on my last ( ) band trip there was a problem with that. We still joke about it to this day. What happened was that there were complaints from the room next to us that we were being overly loud and they called security. A big guy then came up to our room at 2 in the morning, woke all four of us girls up, came into our room an lectured us. We told him to go talk to our chaperone before comming in. As it turns out it was the girls in the room on the other side of the complainer. I think he might have been fired for entering our room without first confrunting our chaperone. I know I was freaked out to see this guy just standing in our room when they woke me up.

I've been to WDW a few times while the cheer competitions were going on, and I've had the unfortunate circumstance to travel WITH cheerleaders in college quite a bit.

To be short, they're obnoxious, but they're totally oblvious to everything but themselves. I've seen them perform in the parks and even early in the morning at the all-stars (Or late at night), when people were sleeping. Once they were asked to stop by a gentleman whose kids were sleeping, and they didn't. Another time on a bus they were shouting and cheering while there were sleeping kids on the bus back to the all stars.

The only people who don't mind the cheerleaders at WDW are cheerleaders. Period.

Completely random input:

I was working the sidelines of a high-school football game last year for a newspaper and a high spiraling pass went out of bounds and pegged a cheerleader right between the shoulder blades. I tried to yell at her to move, but I wasn't quick enough.

Moral of this story: It's a really bad idea (perhaps even *ahem* DUMB) to face the stands while you're on the sidelines unless there's a timeout.

Come on. They're CHEERLEADERS, not the Devil. They do a cheerleader event at PKI every Labor day weekend. It wasn't too crowded the first couple of years but has been getting steadily worse year by year. It is always nice to see some of the College Cheer squads as well :sohappy: :lookaroun :sohappy: .

That happens to be the weekend of the Riverfest Fireworks (on my profile as my favorite fireworks show) which is over 30 minutes of awesome aerial explosions. Worth a trip.

Like I said, I married a cheerleader, so I will defend them (their cuteness anyway) as long as my wife may be reading these threads.

The fact is that they think because they are cute they can basically do whatever they want. However, when you're a guy like me, you basically just look upon them as a nuisance. Remember the bud light commericial that made fun of football cheerleaders?

They really serve no purpose - especially on the college and pro level.

I remember when we went to the Rose Bowl. The minute we got off the plane, the band went straight to the practice field to get in our daily practice, while the cheerleaders went to a taping of the tonight show.

As people, I don't mind cheerleaders - dont' get me wrong. However, when they get in a group their mentality changes and they get this "better than you" attitude. Then the cheers start and they think because they are doing something cheery and happy that everyone should like what they are doing. Fact is this - in WDW there is no place for that. People aren't there to watch you cheer. In fact, I always enjoyed the vacations I took with my family because we didn't have to travel with a pack of cheerleaders that decided to pass time by being obnoxious.

Like the clackers, cheerleaders see themselves as just "having fun", but everybody else just looks upon it as annoying.

Not Everyone thinks they are annoying...But that's all Im saying about the clackers from now on...

But after reading your cheerleader stories, you reminded me of one that I had. I was at MGM waiting in line for a drink I believe, and 2 cheerleaders cut right through the line, and bumped the stroller behind me, and the baby nearly fell out. When the mom was like "EXCUSE ME, YOU OWE ME AN APOLOGY", and the cheerleader absolutely did owe the mother an apology. Instead, the girl was like "I didnt do nothing"...then they started cursing at each other...It was extremely rude...The last time I was there, there were 2 instances when different cheerleaders cut in front of me in whatever line. If they would of asked to butt, I would of said sure, but they just cut in front of me...so I cut right back:mad:

I think we have been down this avenue before, and it never ends nicely. People, and quite rightly so, do not appreciate being told their post has spelling mistakes, no matter how fun intending it is supposed to be. Besides, its a web forum, where missing the odd ' is not going to harm the understanding of the post. I know I am guilty of that frequently!

I have a joke...

6 cheerleaders and 6 guys with clackers walk into a bar......

Nobody knows how this joke ends because it got annoying after about 12 seconds and they were all kicked out :)

Ok i think this has gotten a little out of hand people. I posted on this before because I am a cheerleader and I don't appreciate when people put us down or make fun of us. And to the dude who said we don't have a purpose we do and its not to "cheer" on a bunch of spitting, butt slapping, cursing, dirty boys. We do it to compete in competetions which some just happen to be in Disney. But you can talk about us as much as you want but it's old and tired and people need to get over this thread

That's the pity about a message board I guess....you're allowed to your opinion, we're allowed to ours.

The point we've been trying to get across is that the things that cheerleaders think are fun are usually annoying to 95% of the american public.

You would think from the numerous threads on cheerleaders on these boards (do a search) and the many stories shared on this one, that some of us actually have learned to schedule trips so that we go when cheerleading competitions AREN'T there because that exact mentality has the capacity to destroy the fun for everybody else around.

Well Said, Fievel.

I just hate having to fight for space with cheerleaders to do my job. Fortunetly in professional sports and Big Time College Football, the NCAA and NFL & NBA have specific spots reserved for cheerleaders.

However in not-so-big-time NCAA sports as well as High School, it gets to be a real pain when youre trying to do you job and your bumped into every 30 seconds by someone who is by far, in the wrong place.

Every experience ive had with a cheerleader in a professional, working setting has flat out been a pain.

Of course, dont confuse me with insulting Dance Teams, which I got along with fine. Gotta love them.

I will say this...

I don't have a problem with cheerleaders per se, but how do you think a football player would respond to your post? You get upset (and perhaps rightly so) over the feeling that people are stereotyping a group you belong to, and then you turn around and do the same thing. Football players are hard workers and make a lot of sacrifices (and, yes, receive a lot of benefits, as well) to do what they do. As a hard-working young cheerleader, I'm sure you can appreciate that fact.

Did I mention that I played Football? Football player marrying a cheerleader. I must be living the American dream. I take this thread for what it is. . . lively conversation with no real purpose.
