I also noticed that the other teams were good as well. What's the difference of who the people that go to Disney are? If it wasn't cheerleaders it would have been families. I had the best times going on cheerleading trips to Disney, it is quite exciting to us. Isn't that the point of Disney, to be excited? The girls were proboably cheering because they were excited to be there.

they were still annoying...

Well I'm not going to argue with people about this but I had the best time and we were well behaved and didn't annoy people. So I think people should think that these people are having a good time just expressing themselves differently than you.

they would stop and cheer down the middle of main street and do several routines in which people would be lifted. I saw this every single day they were there.

Sorry, but if that's not annoying, that's at least unsafe. And also, CM's told them to stop with the lifting people up, and they still did... nice disregard for rules there on those groups' behalfs.

Well if they were stunting in the middle of the park they should not be especially if a CM asked them to stop. But trust me it's not dangerous. All the cheer teams practice at their hotels on pretty much concrete. We know what we are doing. But if somebody on staff asked them to stop they should have but if girls were just running around being happy and cheering than more power to them. And how is stunting not entertaining. It is sooo much fun!

mistakes can happen, and Disney doesn't want the liability if one of the cheerleaders were to get hurt on their property. It's that simple. I don't doubt you can do that... but unless Disney asks you to do that, you shouldn't be doing it in the parks.

Tell that to the girl who got dropped at our high school homecomming game two years ago. I think that was the only time I found their stunts to be entertaining, course I was in the marching band and cheerleaders are our enemies.

Sounds like you all are putting on a damn musical. I've been in MGM for the Cheerleading events. They had a designated two hours I think of ' Exclusive ' Ride Time on ToT and RnRc.

I talked to the CM's in Tower and RnR and they told me I could ride as an AP Guest past my 2 hours considering one person wouldn't make a diffrence. But even with that privledge, the waits got longer and longer. Your ears were pierced without anything sharp.. Maybe sharp pitched. But I don't find any cheerleading activities enjoyable. Keep in school kiddies.

Yes of course that doing stunts is a liabilty. There is no doubt if a CM asks you to stop then you should stop! Of course of course!

Ok the band guy, umm that a girl falling gave you entertainment, umm that's kinda bad. Alot of people think cheerleaders are stupid. But guess what we're not. So many of us are smart, funny, intelligent, artistic and personable. People on my team were on the 20th percent of the class and have gone onto wonderful colleges and some are in doctor programs. Personally I am extremely artistic and am in the art honor society. Cheerleading is a sport people. Sorry to say to you guys but it is. No I'm not talking about the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, I'm talking about those girls dedicated to competetions. We were as hard, even harder than other sports. And this is a FACT: Cheerleading is most ingury prone sport because of the gymnastic and stunting we do. That is a fact from a newspaper article, I didn't make it up. Again me personally had to go to physical therapy for my knees and back, my roommates knee was so messed up she needed surgery and my flyer (the girl who goes in the air) has two permanetly sprained ankles. I'm not trying to preach and this is totally off Disney topic but cheerleading is soo important to me and when people attack it I need to get my message clear. You can disagree with me but it is what it is and that is a sport and not some bubbly blonde ditz thing.

Hmm....

Lots and lots of people get upset with the groups of cheerleaders, including non-group guests and CMs.

Cheer groups make lots of noise, cause people to loose sleep, make huge messes in rooms, on rooms, buildings, and all over.

Dealing with groups and replacing lost keys or letting locked out guests into rooms is a pain for Front Desk CMs.

So did the family with the very loud and obnoxious kids in the room next to mine at the Contemporary. Does that mean they should stay out of Disney?

I'm not in favour of any group of people who are loud & obnoxious, not following the rules, etc, at Disney. But cheerleaders are not the only ones who do it. Basically any school group does it, whether it be cheerleading, band, or just a school trip. And even some non-school groups, such as certain obnoxious families.

Why does everyone hate cheerleaders so much?! I was a cheerleader in high school. Do you hate me? >_<

Let me rephrase. I don't hate all cheerleaders. Where I grew up we were rivals and yes some of us were enemies. And while many of the members of the cheerleading squad at my school were as dumb as posts, many weren't. Many of my fellow band mates were and still are dumb as a box of rocks. I know and understand how easily one can get hurt doing the stunts you girls do, like I said before, I've seen it happen. So shoot me if I thought the girl being dropped on her butt was funny, I also thought it was hilarious when the trombone player behind me accidently knocked me to the ground with his slide.

I do hate when anybody, cheerleader or not, shows blatent disregard for others. I have never been to WDW during a cheerleading competition and therefore can't say too much about it.

No, that means they should teach their children manors and not rely on schools to do that for them (sorry, personal gripe).

THANK YOU! Lots of different groups are scary even just family with little kids. Also I went on senior trip, Grad nite in may. Actually people looked at us when we got in a room or the plane or restaurant. But actually we got complicated for how well behaved we were and there were 76 of us. People would go up to my principal and chaplain and tell them how surprised they were with us. So see even big groups are good! My principal was so proud of us that it was part of his graduation speech. I cried when he said how proud of us he was, he felt like a proud dad of 76 kids. See it's so nice when people compliment you on good things instead of just always complaining to you for bad.

Sorry I didn't mean to make this a fight or put people into a tizzy. So I apologize but like I said if somebody says something bad about somethng I love I lash out. Even my family has been the brunt of this arguement and have gotten into fights with them. Cheerleading is a passion of mine and I will protect the sacntity of it.

Well thanks, I think that's the only good compliment to come out of this thread!

Anyways, why don't we stop arguing about the cheerleading issue, alright? (BTW, I am not a hater of cheerleaders at all!).

I don't see what the big deal is, I happen to like cheerleaders. I enjoy going during the cheerleading competitions, it's probably the only time where I like to see Disney crowded

Do they just choose in the morning before the park opens or something on projected attendance cause what happens if the line gets long....?

Is this something new, or something that's on a trial run? This is the first I've heard (er, read) about it.

Could you see the zipper or velcro?

I have no idea. I myself have NEVER seen it around, but I know ISTCrew said it's been around since Dino-Rama opened, so it's probably been there for a while now. But of course, I don't visit Animal Kingdom that often, so I really wouldn't know (I stay away from this boring park, but enjoy coming in once in a while to catch It's Tough To Be A Bug and a ride on Dinosaur).
