This is the parking lot at my office. Not many people made it in today. It's ridiculous because you can't see around the corners at the end of the rows and people don't stop to look. I've seen a lot of snow in the mountains, but never twice as tall as a Jeep on Long Island.

OK - so I figured out how to upload my photo: And as an aside - I just heard on the radio we're possibly going to get another inch today, 2 inches tomorrow, another 2 on Tuesday and possibly another big storm the end of next week. :fork:

I've spent so much time clearing the driveway that my wife thinks I'm having an affair with the snowblower. I had to explain to her that it only does snow...

It was 60 degrees here today. I drove around with the windows down. It is supposed to be 65 tomorrow, but then it will drop back down into the 40s.

Well yesterday we shoveled and used a snow blower on our almost flat roof to clean off all the 24" to 30" of snow. It is 50' X 100' and it took 6 hours with 4 people, but the alternative was worrying ourselves sick about a possible roof collapse. There have been 5 collapsed roofs on the news today so I guess we made the right decision. Now this afternoon it was supposed to go up to 35 degrees and melt the snow from last night and the sleet and freezing rain, but it never made it past 31 so the slushy stuff has now frozen solid and our parking area is a skating rink, literally. Our trees are all coated with ice and sparkle in the street lights. We also had 2 downspouts freeze, one of which we had a heat tape that quit. So hubby had a project to get that thawed and a new tape put on. We have never, since we built the building in 1978 ever, ever shoveled off the roof. It will take a good dose of WDW to get this winter off our minds this year! And it can't come any too soon!! Bless that little furry groundhog today - he said that we will have an early Spring.:D

All those collapsing roofs are getting very frightening. My younger brothers and sisters, as well as several of my nieces and nephews went to that school, and my sister taught there for a few years. We've been very lucky so far that no one has been injured by these. I just read that they had to evacuate the Walmart in N Attleboro tonight because of its roof. Tomorrow's going to be a really miserable drive!

Stay safe everyone!
