That's my take on it Merf

We all know that when this attraction opens, the Seas with be packed to the gills ( no pun intended ...lol!) with Guests as EVERYONE in the World is going to want to ride it asap! Can't say i blame them really....i have'nt seen such enthusiasim for a opening since Everest. Everyone is very pumped.

I'm happy to read here that there WILL be some AA's inside the attraction. This is GREAT news. Sounds to me like the Anglerfish is going to be the next Yeti/Hopper/ Oz Witch! Sounds cool, and i'm very releived to realize that this will not be a mediocre "video image" attraction as previously hinted. Whew......that's a relief!

A good balance of several formats and technologies to present the expereince, like all of the classic dark rides did, will be very welcome.

Let's hope this attracion will be the start of great future projects at Epcot, and the World!

So, The Seas will have 280 feet of new track, plus what, about 70-100 feet through the old Seacab tunnels??? Making a total of about 350-380 feet.

I've had a tougher time than expected trying to find the "track length" of other dark rides.

The only one I came across was Buzz Lightyear, at 630 feet.

So, The Seas will be a little longer than half the track length of Buzz Lightyear (which is probably where the "shooting game" ends and you enter the smoke filled spin tunnel, just before the "Speedroom".)

That's still not bad, considering the UNBELIEVABLE thing Disney is doing by actually EXTENDING a ride's length (remember how much people complained when Journey into Imagination was trimmed short!)

I officially have to eat crow here. Shortly after the Seacabs closed around 2002, I remember posting on these boards a suggestion that Disney should tear out the Seacabs track, and make the tunnels a "walk-thru". After all, I wrote, Disney would NEVER spend the money to make a longer ride.

I'm so glad I was so wrong!

Yeah..i hear you!

It's stunning!

Well, it's like someone said earlier, the fact that they have AA seagulls OUTSIDE the Pavillion speaks volumes as such a thing probably would'nt have happened ( as it's classed as a non-nessesity of sorts) if the budget was small. I think Disney has poured a lot of thought, resources, and $$$'s to really wow us with this new attraction. Everest was just the beginning maybe? This is all good news to my ears.

I think i lot will be revealed about the future of quality Disney ride thrus once Nemo opens. We shall see....

I have to say that i hope they keep the "wave splash" outside too!!

This is going to be one heck of an attraction. The more that I hear about it, the more excited I get. It looks like Disney is really taking the time to get this right and make it a memorable experience for all guests.

I think you guys are getting way too excited about the attraction and this is only going to lead to disappointment come opening day (remember the everest hype and then it opened the board was spammed with "everest sucks" topics?). Not trying to be negative, but go in expecting a modest redo of the living seas.

Better to be pleasantly surprised then to feel disappointment when the short attraction isnt as good as you hoped it would be.

Oh and I have a question for Living Seas fans, were there ever Moray Eel's in the pavillion? If so, will they be there when the Seas reopens in October? For some strange reason, I kind of remember seeing them on the sea cabs but its totally possible im mixing it up with seaworld or something.

Sea World has moray eels in the tunnel section of the shark enounter thingy I beleive. That has a moving platform through it and sort of resembled the Living Seas in a way.

As far as I know, Living Seas never had morays. I tend to remember them, as they rather creep me out.

Ha ha ha!

You know, i could have sworn Seas' did have Morays as i remember seeing a old photo in a early Epcot brochere.

Maybe i'm remembering a old Sea World one too...but i could have sworn it was for Seas. Could be wrong .....

Yeah. maybe we should all keep cool heads about this attraction and not get too excited as Lewis warns. It COULD be another bust ( remember the excitement and promising info before Stitch's Great Escape opened?). It still sounds like a nice plus though...and as long as there's some decent AA's in it i'm thrilled. And THAT'S coming from a non-"Nemo" fan!

HOLY FRIGGIN' CRAP!!!

It's 1:49AM, and I'm very tired, but before I went to bed, I wanted to see if there were any pictures of the seagulls on the marquee or anything. And so, I skimmed through looking for pictures... and THAT popped up. Scared me half to death. Now... I guess I'm going to try to go to bed, but I'm sure with limited sucess.

Is this ride going to have FastPass?? I hope there isn't one so the line will continuously move more or less.

I'm pretty pro-FP, but I agree.

I just hope that there is no pre-show, etc. that we have to go through. Someone mentioned the Mansion earlier, and while I love it and wouldn't change it for anything, it is true that the pre-show slows the works down quite a bit; it's virtually impossible for it to run at true capacity as an omnimover.

I think the new ride will do alright, as long as traffic is allowed to move freely in. I haven't been following this as closely lately : do we know how entrance/exit is going to work? Will you have to take the ride to get down there, or will people be able to get inside for Crush, etc., like they are now?

From the ride descriptions I have been reading here and elsewhere the queue is the pre show much like E:E and KS. I like the pre shows like HM and Dinosaur as well but there is no doubt that they do seem to slow the queue down.

I hope that turns out correct. I too love pre-shows (in their place) and am all for a fun, engaging queue, but I think special consideration was needed here. This attraction is relatively close to the front of the park, and is going to draw a LOT of parents and kids throughout the busier hours and should do fine if the traffic flow is constant.

Is it known yet if gaining entrance to the inner pavillion (Sea Base, Crush) will only be through the ride, or will people be able to skip the ride and go straight in? In terms of immersion, I kind of always liked the idea of the ride being your journey in, but then again I wouldn't mind if people who wanted to skip the ride and get straight to Crush, for example, could, as it would help keep the lines even more managable.

so does anyone know WHEN in october this thing opens? i'll be there from the 5th through the 9th!!
You will miss the AP/DVC preview by 1 week (10-13 to 10-15) I would do a fly by toward the end of your trip and you might get lucky but it will be a long shot.

“What’s so important about this attraction is that it revitalizes the whole pavilion for us,” Kathy said. “The aquarium is so stunning, and [this] was our chance to take it, extend it, and do the overlay, using storytelling with classic Disney characters to introduce Guests to the pavilion. It was too good to be true,” she added.

Is Nemo really considered a "classic Disney character?"

So yes, Nemo is now a classic Disney character.
