On to Vegas and its 1.5 mile track. Kenseth and Johnson are usually very good here ( and most 1.5 milers). Big test for Dale Jr. Can he keep it going on a type of track he's struggled on the last couple of years?

Generally speaking, my hunch is that we are going to see a season full of surprises. I see a wide open field of talented competitors; and despite the seasoned veterans out there on the track, there's going to be a lot of competition for the chase. Something tells me we're in for a very exciting season! :joyfull:

The new point system puts so much emphasis on winning this season could get crazy

Greetings. Here's a little preview of this coming weekend. Just read that Kevin Harvick posted the top speed yesterday, during the four hours of testing at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, with a lap of 190.148 mph, followed by Austin Dillon (189.54), and Trevor Bayne (188.62). Interesting . . .

Team Penske starting on the front row for the second week in a row. Logano on the pole and Kesolowski second. Haven't had a chance to watch the new qualifying, but following it on twitter is exciting. Different strategies and drivers moving up and down the pylon. It looks like Penske cars have it figured out.

There is always one team that figures things out first and the others play catch up

Does anyone else do this? One of my favorite things to do when watching the races on tv, (when they give you the advance warning, for turning up the volume for the "Crank it Up" breaks) is blast the sound through my speakers of the cars whooshing by on the track!! Ha, ha, ha . . . so much fun!! :joyfull:

Oh my goodness, :jawdrop: YES!! There are three sounds in the world that are happy, happy to my ears--NASCAR drivers shooting around the track, lightsabers and my daughter's laughter. :geek:

fuel card came up just short but still got jr second place, so not a bad deal. Kenseth still got a top ten so I'm good
Junior said under the old points system they would not have tried to stretch the fuel mileage, but with his Daytona win he's nearly locked into the Chase, they went for it. I like it. Drivers going for wins instead of "good points day".

I agree. Drivers going all out for the "win" makes it so much more exciting, for all the fans holding their breath, toward the end of that race!

And, congratulations to the # 22 for his awesome driving yesterday.

I would certainly put those three sounds in my top 5. As a musician, I might have to put a couple other things up there.

DW is a Jr fan, so she is loving this season so far. As a Jeff Gordon fan, I am enjoying it as well!
