I'd also love for MM to come to ALand in MK. Perfect fit.
I disagree. While it's not an exact clone or a retheme, it's too similar to HM.

I kinda think it'd fit in Camp Minnie Mickey just because, there, Mickey is an explorer. Maybe the storyline could be that Mickey and the gang found an abandoned mansion in the jungles full of artifacts from around the world. Since when did Expeditions and Safaris not have to do with the whole adventure theme. I'd also love for MM to come to ALand in MK. Perfect fit.
But after the opening scene the monkey is gone and there really aren't any other animals so the exhisting MM wouldn't work it would need some reworking.
The monkey is in every scene.
And I couldn't care less if it doesn't have many animals. It'll a good ride and fits the feel of DAK.
I didn't mean they couldn't, I meant that the fact that they can't do it without an extreme amount of work and thought is great.
And an adress to all Dinorama Bashing:
Dinorama (As someone well versed in Dinosaur roadside amusements that used to litter Florida) as a part of the culture surrounding Dinosaurs was missing from Dinoland, and that aspect of these little family run Mini-Amusement parks with like two rides were everywhere. In fact, the government just seized one down here that was a Creationist Dinosuar Family Fun park. If you wanna' see cheesy and gaudy, look at what they imitated, parks like that. These Mini-Disneylands were strung out all across America. They overdetailed Dinorama a million times more than they had too for what they imitated. And with Animal Kingdom being lacking for things to do for kids and families not riding Countdown, it's a natural fit to house those needed attractions.
It may not be the best, but complaining about Dinorama is old-hat. It's got tons of great detail, expands on the Theme of the land and the park, has people eating attractions for familes, plus a killer sense of wit, story, and charm that Animal Kingdom is known for.
We get it, you people can't live without a target to always hold Kangaroo Court for.
 :brick:
Mystic Manor has no place at Animal Kingdom because the park is about the relationship and love between Humans and Animals. It's an extremely metaphorical and showstopping theme. You can't just build a ride and throw in a Monkey, or a movie about Animals in it, and say it "fits". It has to fit in a much, much, MUCH deeper level.
But you can build a ride and throw in a yeti?
But you can build a ride and throw in a yeti?
Good point.
Very well said....In DelusionalMcCrazyLand, it's tops.
Expedition Everest is perhaps the best exploration of Animal Kingdom's Theme. Man has such a fascination with Animals that, we actually have a worldwide fascination, both born of Science and Legend, that has a created or discovered a Creature that has been intrinsically linked with wild places, and seen by thousands around the world, from China, Russia, North America, Australia, and the heights of Nepal. On the fringes of where Men, Nature at it's extremest, and wild Animals meet, there you'll find in that Grey area this myth (Or perhaps existence) of this creature.
While the details vary to some extent, one thing is always the same: The creature and the place are linked, as a Protector to something man is not meant to Disturb. This creature is not only considered sacred as the protector of this place, but also something very real that could come down one day and eat your livestock.
I've said this before, but Everest is the Twilight Zone of Animal Kingdom. We're given this destination on the extreme fringe of nature, something man has challenged himself throughout the ages as something to conquer. As Guests, we are metaphorically represented as all of Mankind as we explore this story. We set out to reach this place with disregard to the sanctity of the Forbidden place we aim to set through. And there, in that place, the Legend, comes to us. But in the end, even though we are left defeated in purpose, and left imbued with such a remarkable encounter, that while you (the guest) aren't left with the memory of a complete song and dance routine where the Yeti picks you up and throws you around for ten minutes so you completely know that he's real like some want, it leaves you with an Inexplicable experience, that does not confirm any beliefs for you...But reinstates you with a sense of mystery and respect for the outer limits of the natural world.
Anyone who thinks it's just a Coaster with a Yeti thrown in is either brain deaf or lacks any Imagination to put the pieces together in their own way as intended.

So....Saying that, couldn't we use the Mystic Manor concept but make it more Animal based/Explorer based and put it in DAK?
"fringe of nature" as you said.
Something I have no problem with...:lookaroun:lol:Unless there was some sort of Haunted Animal that makes things go crazy and make illusions, no.
The beauty of Animal Kingdom is that all of the stories that are told have their roots in very real stories. If they were to do what you want, I'm sure they could make up a very elaborate Animal involved story, but if it doesn't have it's roots in a REAL story, then it's not meant for Animal Kingdom. What's great about Everest IS that everything in the story is believable because it exists. You disregard knowledge of the Yeti-Because it IS actually a legend in your mind. No sign has to drill that into you, because it's already in the Air. Imagineering crafted together a story, a place, and a show that's already physiologically floating in your head.
You come to me with a real story, or Legend or something that Exists in the public mythos of Animals, and then we have something to build an attraction around. Until then, A Manor where a Monkey opens a Magic Box, just doesn't connect. It's a shoebox sitting on the branches of Tree. The beauty of Animal Kingdom, is that they've yet to place anything that hasn't grown on the tree naturally.
(If it makes you feel better, I've tried to craft this kind of a Ride for Animal Kingdom too. I'll remind you when I actually find that golden story to work with. Until then, just keep saying we need Beastly Kingdom. )

Both things here are possible. While I am very optimistic I don't see this happening ever.
First, the ride only has a little to do with animals. Second, it wouldn't fit in any land unless it was remodeled.
Both things here are possible.
See TDS's TOT.
Good point. I really do hope it comes here. That concept art is amazing.
Seriously, just stop it. No Mystic Manor.
For 1: HKDL needs at least one ride that nobody else has to at least attempt to be a draw for international crowds.
For 2: If they use this ride system here, that'd be a nail in the coffin for a new Imagination, that rightly needs and deserves THIS Ride System.
Wish for that! (Seriously, just realized I'm a Pro-Clone poster arguing against a Clone, if that tells you something. :hammer
