I believe it got moved up a couple months back. Disney and More lists the grand opening as May 17.

It isn't open for anything but WDI previews and cast previews with Magic Access (their version of APs) previews coming this week ... and then I'm sure the usual 'soft openings' ...

As to all the folks drooling over this and immediately desiring it, I think what most of you want is quality, immersive, highly themed family attractions in this case using a new (to y'all) ride system. ... The thing I love most about the trackless system is it has infinite possibilities for attractions. It started in Tokyo with an elaborate Pooh ride that was basically a traditional dark ride on 'roids. Then it spread to the new Tokyo park with small boats in a lagoon that interact with each other and the water effects. Now, you see it in a totally unique take on a 'Mansion' attraction as DSP readies a Ratatouille attraction.

Like I said, you want unique quality ... whether you realize it or not.

And, yes, this would be perfect for Imagination. Unfortunately, that park solely exists for food and beverage and merchandise sales right now (but, hey, Erin is waaaay hotter than Phil!)

I see this fitting Adventureland better then Animal Kingdom, unless if you really emphasized mythological creatures in Henry Mystic's collection for an imported version.

The trick with Adventureland though is space and how to get guests to the expansion pad they had set aside for Fire Mountain as well as making it blend. Would probably have to re-route Jungle Cruise like what happened with Disneyland's when they put Indiana Jones in. If you could get Mystic Manor and a small Aladdin area into that expansion pad so that they could relocate the carpets there, that'd fix some of Adventureland's issues.

Why do I feel like I need to throw ice water on the fanboi brigade?

It will NEVER happen. First, HKDL has an exclusivity clause on its two new E-Tickets that are for at least five years if not more. And MM wouldn't fit in the MK. You already have the Mansion, which still is one damn great attraction.

So c'mon, let's cool the drool and make arrangements for a MAGICal meet in HK ... I know I'll be there!

Simply incredible. Really brings into focus how poor the recent offerings at WDW have been. How can a company that can do this also make the FLE?

Well, in part, it thinks it can offer up underwhelming stuff because it thinks guests don't care. That they don't know the difference. That the internet doesn't exist. In other words, Walt's company is being run by a cement-headed CEO who's out of touch with the 21st century and thinks in terms of investment and brands instead of innovation and creativity. It makes me sick. And it makes me sicker that there are Disneyphiles out there who are completely blind to what is happening to the company and get mad if anyone dares criticize it. They're part of the problem IMO.

Because folks get excited over toilets and planters at the MK ... and wet themselves when spinners get doubled and lousy C/D tickets are cloned.

Oh, and because we already have the HM.

Yes, but look what's been done to the Mansion. Those crappy CGI screens at the end that replaced the Hitchhiking Ghosts are a flop! When I rode the Mansion last December, the screen images during that part of the ride were so fuzzy, and you're going by so fast, that you can't really tell what the hell's going on. The original Ghosts just sat there in the buggies, and that was funny and startling enough, easy to absorb during the limited time in which you see them. Swear to god that the new Imagineers don't know how to tell a story and especially how to PACE one. Tragic, just tragic.

If you look at the context, I was referring to the CGI ride through of Little Mermaid...

I have never ridden this ride, but it may already be my favorite ride ever. SO, it won't ever happen, but I'd love that for AK. Scrap Avatar and build Explorer's Cove. It could have mystic Manor, Adventurer's Club restaurant and a Loch Ness C ticket ride. I think it would be great.

The best thing that comes out of this, beyond fans being angry with the crappy product they've been getting in O-Town the past decade-plus, is that fans may realize that the quality of these other resorts extends to many areas beyond just the hot new ride ... from cleanliness to entertainment to show quality to merchandise to dining to cast quality etc ...

As for product goes, y'all realize that HKDL will be starting construction on the first Marvel land in a Disney park soon, right? Wonder if they'll have a ride that outdoes Spidey!

Its amazing at the pacing Hong kong disneyland is going in terms of expansion as for the marvel land I am seriously excited to see what they cook up for it.

Just watch. A modified version of Mystic Manor will be added to that corner of California Adventure's Paradise Pier where Goofy's Sky School is now and WDW will never get an LPS ride ever

But AK could use a ride similar to this, I just don't see a Clone fitting in AK's theme in any way.

It has a monkey lead character, takes place in a Rain Forest. It fits the mythical theme AK was supposed to have. And it fits AK the way Haunted Mansion fits Liberty Square.

Adventure land should get Fire Mountain (or all of Vulcania).

Imagination should get something closer to Pooh's Honey Hunt (I don't care if they do have to rebuild the building to do it, as the current building is not being utilized anyway).

And AK should STILL get the Mystery Island/Beastly Kingdom hybrid.

I do not see this coming to WDW. OK, that is out of the way...

To make it fit into DAK, it would have to be in a land geared towards exploring the natural world. I think you could come up with a good Mysterious Island varient with Mystic Manor and, say, the submarine ride. You can have Lord Mystic (whomever owns the mansion) also have a sub. Or a digger that can go to the center of the Earth.

I don't think it is a terrible stretch for DAK.

I do think that it's really important to start incorporating LPS into rides stateside. I know they're expensive, but right now they've got a pretty stellar record - Mystic Manor, Pooh's Hunny Hunt - and I know expectations for the Ratatouille LPS ride at WDS are high, despite being in that dismal park of misery and woe.

There are just so many places that LPS would be perfect for. I know people keep bringing up Imagination, but it really does seem like a good fit. And it just makes a whole lot of sense to me to bring it to Dinoland or DHS, places that desperately need major, family-friendly rides.

Is TDO just too cheap to build LPS rides, so it's omnimovers forever? Don't get me wrong, I love omnimovers, int he right context.

I obviously don't ever expect MM to be cloned in the states, at least no time soon. We didn't get Tokyo's amazing Sindbad boat ride either. Too bad, for that.

Wow, this is BEAUTIFUL! Definitely an incentive to visit HKDL! If I had the money...
I also really appreciated subtle nods to other Disney attractions too, like the singing tiki heads from ETR and the Medusa painting from HM!
