Mystery Project at Epcot

We do? I didn't think a new show was coming to Epcot, just an update for RoE. Where was this news broken (I probably missed it in one of the threads)?

I really thought this had been discussed on this board, but when I searched for the info, I could not find any. I am no insider, so if it hasn't been discussed openly in the community, then I am just plain wrong.

I am sorry if I gave anyone any false excitment. I really thought the upgrades were leading to a new Steve Davison show, and now I am a little disappointed myself.

The good news is that maybe Imagination will finally get some attention... in 2016.

I know that there are a few people that think Inside Out would be a great fit for Cranium Command (I see where they are going, I tend to agree), but I just don't see the powers that be revamping an attraction in a shuttered pavilion. Moving it somehow to a different pavilion? Maybe. But I'm not sure if that would even be possible or how it would work. And I don't see them resurrecting a defunct pavilion just for one attraction either. There would have to be a new concept for the whole pavilion, and as much as Future World needs the TLC, I just don't see that happening right now. Unless Inside Out is the next Frozen or Toy Story. Then lets buy some furniture and give the cat a name.

The problem is that Disney management doesn't have a lot of confidence in their product until it becomes a mainstream hit. Look what happened with Frozen. They spent almost a year playing catch-up with the public's love for that movie, resulting in the rushed/"low hanging fruit" group of "attractions" at the Studios last summer (I'll reserve judgement for the Malestrom makeover once I've experienced it, as delayed as that will be). So, even though Inside Out looks like it could be a classic to some, and, I feel, fine for an Imagination-themed re-do of some kind, I don't think Parks will pull the trigger on a rebuild of the pavilion until they are convinced the Inside Out "brand" is strong enough to justify the cost. And that might not happen until the movie has been out for 6-9 months.

Either that or a big fat donor comes to the table with a bunch of cash. We know how likely *that* is to happen...

Also, figured I would put this here instead of a new thread, but majority of benches have now been taken out of Epcot at least in world showcase (has this been reported elsewhere already?). All the ones in the UK, gone,,,all the ones at International Gateway, gone.

I think many more have been removed from world showcase as well, its getting ridiculous.

Even the ones in front of where British Revolution play? Why? Just, why? :banghead:

Gee, more benches removed. I'm *shocked*. Shame on TDO. Seriously. Let's have people sit on flower planters/fountains (what's left of the fountains) and on window ledges and on the ground in front of stores. If someone wants to sit, they're going to sit and not roam through a shop. Sorry TDO but your no bench strategy probably doesn't work. I can understand some being moved/relocated for crowd reasons (more room to walk) but it's not that significant of a difference.

I doubt it but it wouldn't have anything to do with the marathon would it? The race goes through all four parks but I don't know the exact route through Epcot or why they'd need to remove benches but..
