This is over a year old and from another thread.

Yes, I remember seeing that. It looks pretty cool, but as someone who is not a fan of theirs I find it hard to want it to happen...

I'm not sure if anything more P&F is planned anymore. That was a while ago and never happened. I have to assume that Captain Eo will go sooner than later. Not sure if it will just close or be replaced.

I think adding toons to EPCOT pavilions is a bad idea, but it can take a virtually ignored attraction like Imagination and make it a must do for some people, especially people with little kids. Look at the lines at some of the meet and greets.

I agree, m&g, while unfortunate for us older disney lovers, are still vital for a park visit with all the little kids. Especially at the most least-like park by children IMO.

Now that I think about it, the original plan i think was to demo the theater and redo imagination only, and now it is different. Considering though we havn't heard much about this mystery project in a while it most likely got cancelled. *meh meh meh but fwozen gets to stey :grumpy:*

If it isn't a franchise it will not get green lit. That will likely not change even with a new CEO.

A P&F new movie was shown just last week. It seems this franchise/brand is still popular. It's more than enough to warrant the imagination overhaul (if this WAS the plan) I suppose getting inspired (one little spark) with Phineas and Ferb wouldn't be too bad. The concept art seems solid.

It's all rumors until Disney's ready to spend some coin.

I am a big fan of p&f, and if imagination overhaul with them happens I will be okay with it. However the ride doesn't need a new theme, it just needs to be a better ride, they have more than enough room to make an awesome attraction no matter who the characters are in it.

Phineas and Ferb has since been cancelled on Disney Channel, with new episodes only appearing on Disney XD. The Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure did premiere years after that show had ended production however. The television characters never seem to have much of an enduring appeal after their series run. Look what happened to The Disney Afternoon shows that we're featured at Mickey's Birthdayland/Starland. That's not to say that Ducktales and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers wouldn't appeal to the Disney fans that grew up with them, but the current audience would be lost in lands and attractions dedicated to them.

They did make a P&F Marvel crossover and a Star Wars one that hasn't aired yet.

While I'm not sure how much longer they can keep it going, if the show remains popular, then even if the series proper doesn't continue, there will undoubtedly be spin-offs and specials and what have you.

In the meantime, I'm looking at Gravity Falls and thinking there's fertile ground there for an attraction.

If only it would appeal to the target demo. I love this show but it skews much MUCH older. An attraction based on it's premise would be EPIC! Though I'm not sure I'd like it in EPCOT. :bluesky

Gadget's Go Coaster is still pretty popular at Disneyland...

So Figment is having a few special events planned for June 28th I believe. The events are 2 artists signing their new Figment artwork at Epcot. Does anyone know if they may also be announcing a new Journey into Imagination ride or 3D movie that day?

Yeah, true. I just got hooked on it, so I've been mainlining episodes and that wax figure episode... Man. I doubt kids today know who Coolio or Larry King are, but I was DYING.

Gravity Falls is one of the best Disney animated series ever, and I think that is mainly due to Alex Hirsch. With his move from Cartoon Network, Disney received a talented mind who knew how to make a somewhat dark, yet comedic and odd cartoon. This ranks up there with Gargoyles and P&F as one of the best ever on air. However, speaking of Phineas and Ferb, I think it would be ill-advised to put any exhibit in the Imagination Pavilion as the show is obviously nearing it's demise.

I was just thinking that between the continuity and the paranormal aspects, GF is VERY much a comedic Gargoyles.

Also, I'm very impressed with the voice talent they've accrued for that show. You've got a good mix of veteran voice actors, and big name talent you don't necessarily expect to see in a cartoon like this (Alfred Molina as a monster bear that listens to girly pop music? YES).

If that's the only other option I'd rather keep the current ride. At least we still have Figment, kind of.

FYI, that artwork says nothing about the movie or the attraction being replaced. It was a concept strictly for a Phineas & Ferb M&G in the unused former store adjacent to the jumping fountains. (That's the pop-up-bubble fountain in the middle) The space was originally a Kodak store, then for a short while it was a "Fig-zilla" Figment M&G, now it's just closed. You can see the sloped window wall of the Captain EO queue at the far right.

Could this have anything to do with epcot centres tweets last night that a big anouncement was coming this morning at 10am? They quickly back pedaled and took thw tweets down
