myMagic+ Upcoming Test(s)

Booked all my FP this morning (60 day mark, Poly). Got everything I wanted and was able to adjust to the times that I wanted. ROE (between the tower shops) was offered on Saturday and Sunday, not Monday - Wednesday of my trip as was noted by some. If you have any questions about my experience thus far, ask away!

FWIW, we only ride a couple of rides per day as the main draw for us is Food and Wine, so this works perfectly for us.

Was able to customize my magic band today. 63 days out. No FP+ yet. Assuming that will be at 60.

Where in My Disney Experience did you do this? I've been checking the "Magic Bands and Cards" link under MDE. I presume that is where I would be given the option if/when it becomes available.

I'm at 65 days. That is actually November and outside the "official" test window. But I'm kind of thinking this "test" is more like a limited roll out that will be ever expanded until everything is done

They just expanded the tests but still not out to November. Take a read: http://www.wdwmagic.com/other/mymag...ds-to-more-resorts-as-full-roll-out-nears.htm

I have a question! When you guys say the site lets you do magic bands and such, is it just by clicking the magic band link or do u get a notice to do it in your notifications? Hoping my resort is added during November!

Some folks were able to do it before getting an official invite from Disney to participate in the test and they did so by starting with the FP+ link under My Disney Experience. You'll know if you've been added because instead of getting either the "it's coming soon" window or the "there must be a guest in the timeframe" (or whatever it says) you'll get the list of dates and be able to start selecting your FPs. Once you can do that, you can click the Magic Band link and start to do that stuff. It seems for those not invited but able, they had to start with the FP page.

Also, from what I've read thus far, you've got to have your entire travel party linked with names etc. and have checked in online.

Just a quick comment/word of wisdom to those that opt to participate in the test based on my experience and others guests/CMs I spoke with:

If your band works from the get go, and you do not need to make any changes, i think the testing should be fine. However, if there is an issue make sure you speak to one of the My Disney Experience or MyMagic+ experts at either the resort or guest relations (they usually have dark blue shirts on with the green mickey touch-to-pay/FP+ logo). The front line CMs are not remotely close to understanding how to use this technology and should not be allow to change anything in the system (aside from maybe scheduling FP+) without sign off from a MDE/MM+ Specialist. When they start poking around and messing with stuff on the system's backend that is when the house of cards can fall and it will likely have a domino effect on the rest of your Magic Band features which will likely result in multiple guest relation trips.

(I posted this and my full experience in another thread, but thought it valuable to say here as well: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/mymagic-testing-update.871028/page-15#post-5676742)

Thanks for sharing that! I wonder if once this goes live there will be specific CMs to handle issues related to MM+ or the expectation is anyone in guest relations will be able to. With any new technology, you're always going to have those who think they know, and those who really do. The trick is finding the people that fall into the 2nd category (which, at least during testing, seems easier based on your description of the shirts).

Any truth to the rumor that the full roll out is expected to be Nov 1st? I saw this on another board and just wondering... This round of testing is looking to go for two months? September 1 - October 31 from my understanding. Seems kinda long for testing for specific resorts when previous tests were only a few weeks at a time...

Am I missing something?

By the end of this testing they would have added nearly every resort to the test, so it wouldn't surprise me if the roll out was soon there after. That said, i think they'd be crazy to have those roll out around the holidays with all the current bugs/issues/lack of training.

On the official WDW site, the pop-up that appears when you click the FP+ link (and aren't in the test) refers to MM+ as going live "later this year." Beyond that I've not seen anything as to an official date but I'd say November does count as "later this year." LOL :D

So by that, I would agree that the beginning of Nov is very likely if Disney wants to avoid roll out near the holidays... Disney has stated to expect full roll out before the end of the year...

Thanks for the info, I was not aware of MDE specialists... Reading threads about people's conversations with general CMs was a bit disheartening as I kept reading conflicting information or vague answers..

I really hope they roll out at my resort! Seeing as how about 10 hotels have tem which I about half, I really hope that November date stands true or at least my resort is added to the testing!!

I'm staying at all-star movies from 9-18 to 9-24, can anyone at this resort use fastpass+ ? I have been trying for weeks and it always takes me to the choose your fastpass screen but with the wrong dates, therefore not letting me do it. All of my reservations are linked together so that is not the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I am staying here in November and hoping it rolls out there by then, but it seems the testing in sept and oct are elsewhere :(
