Why do you say that? I see it's not a thrill coaster, but it's not babyish either, plus it appears to have that Disney detail. I kind of like the show too. But of course I haven't seen it in person yet...

Slower speeds, shorter drops, fewer sudden moves. It's still way beyond Barnstormer, but a caliber below BTMR.

Given that the post they were quoting discussed whether or not the ride was scaring, I think the person you quoted was talking about the thrill aspect of the ride.

Oh... just curious. To me, it seems similar to big thunder (whatever it's called), maybe better, but big thunder is not my favorite.

The thrill aspect is definitely a downgrade, from everything I've read. But that doesn't mean it's not a good ride that fits its designed purpose. The mine scene looks awesome from the clips I've seen online.

Is DLR's more or less intense than WDW's? It was down for it's major refurb both times we visted DLR last year, so we've never ridden it :(
You should look it up on YouTube. The effects in the 3rd lift are crazy cool. I think in terms of intensity it's about the same as WDW. It felt a little shorter in length. But those effects! I could ride it a dozen times just to see them again and again!

Sounds great! Can you tell me more about the swinging cars? Do you notice the swinging or is it pretty subtle?
The car only swings if you decide to swing it yourself, by grabbing the handles and swaying side to side. Some of the turns get the car to swing itself but most of the time it is just up to who is in the car. It is a cool feature. And nothing in this ride comes off cheap and plasticy, i know someone here asked that. It is a beautiful ride. The mine scene makes you feel like your in the movie, it is amazing.

I'm trying to not see any videos but this review made me very excited for the ride! Thank you for that.

The ride is between Barnstormer and Big Thunder in intensity. There are 4 drops that I would consider something a small child may find thrilling or intense: right out of the station has a pretty good punch, at the top of the first lift hill and nice curved drop, the "big drop" under the bridge, and the drop after the bridge. It will be a great addition to Fantasyland and Magic Kingdom. Perfect for families. The queue will be very shady, lots of fans to keep you cool. The queue games will keep you occupied, one of which involved water which will be splashed everywhere. While this will be the best part of all of New Fantasyland, it is also important to not get your hopes up too much. It isn't the best thing since sliced bread, but you will have fun. The animatronics look better in person and are fun to sing along with. The colors of all the diamonds are wonderful. It doesn't look cheap like some say Under the Sea looks. My only issues with the ride is that the seats are going to be a big issue for people. They are VERY small and are not going to be comfortable for medium to supersize adults. The seats are also not padded, so while the ride is smooth as silk, it definitely feels like you are sitting on a seat made of carved out wood. The lap bars are similar to Expedition Everest except even more narrow. There is hardly any room for large bags, backpacks or purses. The swinging on the cars isn't major, but in the back you can feel it a bit. Last but not least, the exit path will constantly be jammed with people wanting to take pictures of the Seven Dwarf's cottage. Just expect that from the get go. It's a beautiful attraction and will be very popular.

IT has one heck of a finale show scene that we don't have, right now the mine train overall has better show scenes than our big thunder, but as a coaster big thunder is the better option!

I think the ride is a good, overall family ride. However...it is very short. So for anyone waiting in long lines, I can can see people getting irritated over that. Also, like someone else mentioned, the seats are on the narrow side (both with the lapbar, and space down by the feet). So large bags may be a problem
