A step down from Big Thunder.
You should specify by coast.

Why do you say that? I see it's not a thrill coaster, but it's not babyish either, plus it appears to have that Disney detail. I kind of like the show too. But of course I haven't seen it in person yet...

Given that the post they were quoting discussed whether or not the ride was scaring, I think the person you quoted was talking about the thrill aspect of the ride.
Oh... just curious. To me, it seems similar to big thunder (whatever it's called), maybe better, but big thunder is not my favorite.
Slower speeds, shorter drops, fewer sudden moves. It's still way beyond Barnstormer, but a caliber below BTMR.
You should look it up on YouTube. The effects in the 3rd lift are crazy cool. I think in terms of intensity it's about the same as WDW. It felt a little shorter in length. But those effects! I could ride it a dozen times just to see them again and again! Is DLR's more or less intense than WDW's? It was down for it's major refurb both times we visted DLR last year, so we've never ridden it
The car only swings if you decide to swing it yourself, by grabbing the handles and swaying side to side. Some of the turns get the car to swing itself but most of the time it is just up to who is in the car. It is a cool feature. And nothing in this ride comes off cheap and plasticy, i know someone here asked that. It is a beautiful ride. The mine scene makes you feel like your in the movie, it is amazing.Sounds great! Can you tell me more about the swinging cars? Do you notice the swinging or is it pretty subtle?
It looks like it is VERY Similar to Big Thunder (with a touch of Splash Mountain) --- the singing.A step down from Big Thunder.

IT has one heck of a finale show scene that we don't have, right now the mine train overall has better show scenes than our big thunder, but as a coaster big thunder is the better option! Is DLR's more or less intense than WDW's? If your worried about getting sick, you can control how much you want to swing. Or decide not to swing the car at all.Um.....
