Agreed about the wheel chairs and scooters. But the lack of gate I think confuses most people. I noticed people looking around with a "uh...where's the gate" look, then attempting to just walk through, then figure out what to do with the Magic Pole. I know that the learning curve is relatively fast (you should get it after the first time you do it), but maybe more visual cues should be used.

I completely agree. I think that there is an assumption by the cast members where they expect you to automatically know what you are doing. I think there needs to be some proactive steps where the cast member is out in front assisting. I believe each cast member only has two touch points so they could easily stand in front and immediately assist. It is very easy to spot those that are confident with entering and those that have a blank look on their face.

you two seem to be confusing the fact that the RFID technology and MagicBands are only a small part of the MyMagic+/NextGen Rollout. Maybe you can give the Mouse your money faster than before, but that's just a small piece of the pie. Limited FPs, FPs for one park per day, possible a limiting of Park Hopping, etc are all on the horizon.

My personal thought on this is that this is the area that they are ironing out. I know my enjoy,met is a small part of this, but all of that seems to be worked out, it is the FP and all that entails that seem o be. The area they are working on. I agree the FP limit and park hopping hindrance is annoying.

No, I know all about MyMagic+. I just haven't started talking about that yet.

We are in a 1 month test for invited guests, are you referring to that, or something else?

MyMagic+ began their Guest test today at Pop Century, DAKL, Yacht Club & Comtenporary. This includes MagicBands, Touch to Pay, Fastpass+, etc.

I had the pleasure of being on the Pop rollout team today and overall things went very well!!

At the moment guests in the test are being given bands and KTTW cards. The KTTW cards are for use at the table service dining and other locations that have not switched over to TTP yet.

1) As others have said, RFID systems went down all over property for 30 minutes after park open, affecting turnstiles as well.

2) From statistics being given out, only 30% of the reservations coming for this whole month have signed up for anything related to FP+. That says a LOT.

3) Apparently the folks with NGE have heard the outcries. I'm trying to confirm this but I keep hearing that with this round of testing, they are going with 4 FP+ slots, but only for MK and not the other 3.

I can confirm that they're doing this for the August test. You can only choose three FP+ experiences in MK, but then, on the next screen, you will get a "surprise" FP+ for POTC. Although the surprise FP+ is always POTC, you can go back and change it to any ride. The extra FP+ started showing up after the first couple of days of reservations begin available for this round of testing. Only 3 FP+ for other parks.

WOW only 30%! I guess I'm in the minority. I would love to do a test. I wonder if the number will go up when the system is explained to guests a check in. Or do they have to do everything in advance?

Other things I wanted to mention:

1) The MagicBands are being harshly received by convention/business guests, seen as something pointless when all what they want to do mostly is check-in, grab their room key and keep going. I know they're not the main target demographic but still, it's something to keep in mind when WDW plays host to many business/convention-type events throughout the year.

2) There are many who apparently received invites but deleted the email/threw the letter out, treating it as like some sort of special offer thing or a "Wait, there's more!" type of deal.

3) There's a large chunk whom DID sign up and even after they customized their MagicBand colors, profiles, etc, they never bothered to read what it actually does or any of the features the MagicBands do.

4) And lastly, people who signed up for the test but somehow skipped the part about the MagicBand entirely, prompting many on arrival to look at it and have a "What the flip?" type of reaction.
