I just payed a visit to Splish Splash located on Long Island for the first time in a long time. Not to mention these rides are up to date and way more advanced. Disney has some work to do.

Typhoon Lagoon doesn't check...

I live on Long Island and have never gone to Splish splash because of the "element" that it seems to attract. I'm not really into water parks anyway. But in themeparkpioner's defense that pic is just one corner shot of an area in the park, this is what the park really looks like

Looks fun enough.

I love those newish rides they seem to have at Splish and Splash. Such as that Tunnel of Terror.
Wet&Wild in Orlando has got some great ones too. Over at W&W I love that 'get flushed down the toilet' ride. Who knew being a turd would be that awesome! So I wouldn't mind being treated like a piece of ..... at Blizzard Beach! Wait...I mean....

So does Nara Dreamland until you actually get there.

Splish Splash seems decent enough.

While I love the theming at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, they both severely lack attractions...well, at least compared to the bigger waterparks. Both could use another 4-5 different rides, especially considering how they're the two most visited waterparks. They get very crowded and the wait times can become unbearable. I stood in line over an hour just for the Slush Gusher, and another hour for the Downhill Double Dipper last time I visited BB.

With the tornado slides, half pipe slides, bowl slides, hydro magnetic water coasters...there's just so much more they could add. Personally, id like to see Blizzard Beach add a water coaster as big as the new one at Holiday World in Indiana! That thing is a people eater!

I went there to find that many of the rides have received their own themed background music in the Que. areas and some of the Que. areas also have some pretty good scenery. One of the rides is pitch back all the way thru until the funnel part where there is laser lighting effects. Another called Hollywood stunt rider has a great Hollywood theme with a pre show. Don't let those pictures fool you that one wave pool is actually a part of the Lazy River, the 2 wave pools are much bigger then that. The park looks a little bland without the fake rocks and the palm tree but what do you expect, the park is only open for 3 full months and gets nailed with freezing temperatures, snow and ice all winter long. Disney needs to step it up a knotch.

I have no doubts it's fun and I'm glad you and so many others enjoy it. The thing with TL & BB is for me it's not just about the rides, it's the relaxing on a lounger or walking around and enjoying the beauty of the surroundings and the theming that I also really enjoy. Adding new slides wouldn't be cheap or that easy to keep the theming going, many of the slides are built into the 'mountain itself and so can't be easily altered. TL added those 'coaster' slides a few years back which are quite fun, maybe BB could get similar in the future? I'm all for improving the parks but would really hate to see the Disney waterparks start cramming rides in and destroying the beauty and theming of what they already have my friend.

It's Queue - not Que

And it's 'paid' - not 'payed'

Sorry, I couldn't take the repeated abuse by the one making recommendations on what Disney should do.

Seriously??? You have to attack him on his spelling?? Many people have spelling errors on here, often they are typing fast and just want to get the message across and there is no spell check. Now you're just being rude. I didnt know we had a spelling moderator on here also...

While I get the theming is super important to the waterparks, I have seen there are multiple places in each park that they COULD expand...especially BB...the whole backside of the mountain as well as just past the back end of the lazy river has prime real estate for expansion. Nothing back there except minor backstage stuff and trees.

I know what this thread is about. I don't have to look any "deeper" to see you being rude. Thanks
If one continuously makes the same spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes then it shows a deeper problem in understanding certain issues.

Also, spell checkers are free...if you don't have one them it also shows a certain level of laziness.

Come on, it's only page two yet. Too early to have an otherwise fine thread devolve into unimportant spelling drama.

I love both TL and BB. They feel quite complete to me. I am not left wanting for more when there. But both do get too crowded. So I wish for a new watergate (see what I did there?) more than an expansion.

Re-opening River Country would be great. But it lacks the capacity of the other two, so guests would feel cheated if it was sold as water park. My plan would be to re-imagineer it together with Discovery Island as a boutique park, an answer to Discovery Cove, but without the dolphins. Then destroy DC by crying about how inappropriate it is to keep dolphins captive in a tiny water park.

When Splish Splash gets featured as one of the Top Ten Waterparks in the country, then let me know! Both BB and TL are featured (Travel Channel I believe). However, it does look like a nice little waterpark.:D
