I LOVE Splish Splash!! Go there every summer. It is a great water park and has some fantastic rides although I have to agree with everyone else, the theming is nonexistent when compared to either of Disney's parks. I'd rather stop comparing them and just enjoy all three for what they are. =)

When Splish Splash gets featured as one of the Top Ten Waterparks in the country, then let me know! Both BB and TL are featured (Travel Channel I believe). However, it does look like a nice little waterpark.:D

Umm...it has been featured on the travel channel as one of the best waterparks. That's where I first heard about the place!

OMG! What's wrong with you?! No one will ever be able to touch Disney! DISNEY IS THE BEST AND WILL ALWAYS BE! Not even that dumb Harry Potter crap will touch Disney! I LOVE WDW!!!

What a load of Splish Splash. We've got a water park here that's bigger than yours.Infact I'll go to say it's bigger than long island. It's called Scotland. It's been raining non stop for months now,so much water that were selling it to England.:)

Bahahahahahaha Now that's a park I want to visit!!

As long as everyone is measuring theme parks against what Disney has, they don't have anything to worry about. ;)

I really enjoy Typhoon Lagoon, It's one of the best water parks I've ever been to from an ambiance standpoint. The Lazy River, Shark Reef, and The Wave Pool are all top notch.

That being said, Water Park technology has jumped dramatically in the last 5-8 years, and Disney has fallen behind. We are kind of coming in to a waning period of a water-park boom across the country. There has been, for lack of a better phrase, a butt-load of regional water park expansions across the country (and in some cases world-wide). That also being said, I really don't think it is, or should be a priority right now. The four major parks here at the Walt Disney World Resort are ALL in desperate need of rehabs/expansions. Maybe once Fantasyland, DAK expansion (whether Avatar or Otherwise), new ride at Studios, and a few more re-imaginings at EPCOT, maybe then we can explore the option of changing/restoring the water parks.

Americans are looking for more and more new ways to keep cool, and seeing the new and exciting things happening at Regional Water parks, people will begin to expect bigger and better things from Disney. But the water parks have never been the spotlight. My point is that they will need expansion eventually, but I think we can put that on the back-burner...For Now...

I disagree, I feel all of Disney's Parks should get high priority. Why put the water parks on the back burner?? They all should be held to Disney's high standards.

Actually I think the water parks are the only area of WDW where Disney is significantly ahead of the competition.

No it doesn't have the latest trap door slide.. or whatever toliet bowl slide.. but I don't think that puts them behind at all.

Living in Wisconsin, I have access to more than my share of waterparks with one of them, at one time or another having the latest greatest attraction. Noah's Ark is usually on the cutting edge of water rides and if anyone thinks for one second Noah's Ark, even though it has more water rides than both Disney waterparks combined, is better than either Disney waterpark, they really need to understand what the word quality means.

I'm not big on waterparks but TL and BB are pretty awesome not only in their slides and stuff but their theming is awesome!

Being up in Maine we don't have a ton of water parks and stuff but we do have one (Splashtown) that just added on a bunch of cool new slides: 4 racing slides and an enclosed corkscrew slide but what I'm looking to try is what they named Poseidon's Plunge. You stand in a little capsule and the floor drops out and you go speeding straight down. I want to see if this compares to Summit Plummit (if I can get the courage to go on it! lol) even if it does, Splashtown still wouldn't even come close to TL or BB as a whole. Waterpark technology is improving that's for sure but TL has Crush N Gusher which I heard is pretty fun and BB has SP which is amazing.

I grew up in Wisconsin and absolutely loved going to Noahs Ark. That place was to me the Disney of water parks. I'd take Noah's over Typhoon or Blizzard any day. Dark Voyage, Time Warp, Black Anaconda, Scorpions Tail...all ride experiences you cannot find at Disney. Yes, Black Anaconda is a water coaster like Crush N Gusher, but it's so much bigger, more intense, faster, and I prefer it over the very short CNG water coasters.

I'm in complete agreement with you.

Do you realize how much cheaper water rides are than other attractions? $100 million for Mission Space or The Little Mermaid...try less than $5 million for the Crush N Gusher. WAY cheaper and worth investing in. Heck, they could add FLE style waterpark expansions to both parks for $25 million!
