Must share my enthusiasm for 1st Anniversary trip!!

Hey all! I have posted a few comments and questions about my upcoming 1st anniversary trip 9/3/11-9/6/11 and wanted to share my excitement in regard to another upgrade!! So we originally booked ASSports... ehh, I wasn't too excited since we stay Value every time we visit but the deal was just too good and we wanted to get the reservation made. A few weeks ago we went ahead and decided to upgrade to POFQ which is one of my all time favorite resorts AND my Hubby has yet to stay there.... we weren't sure how we were going to swing it, but we knew we just had to do it. So then, about a week ago, we got a wonderful anniversary surprise from one of my husband's friends who is a DVC member ............. and Saratoga Springs here we come!!! :sohappy::sohappy: 23 days left to go until my anniversary trip begins!!

For those that recall: Yes, the top tier of our cake will be making the 3.5 hour trek, but we decided that we will NOT have it prepared for our anniversary dinner at Jiko. We plan to share this moment in the privacy of our hotel room... perhaps to avoid anyone witnessing any reactions to the flavor of the cake that may occur (although, pictures will be a must! ).

Congrats on the upgrade. SSR is a nice resort, pretty peaceful.

We lucked out. Our case was surprisingly delicious when we ate it. We were disappointed when we finished it, but our freezer was happy to get the space back. You did freeze it.... right??????

Thank you! I stayed at SSR once before I met my Hubby on my first solo trip and really enjoyed it. It was very relaxing, and being a young single female by myself I felt very comfortable and at home. I'm also very excited to check out the updated pool!! :sohappy:

Oh yes, we froze the cake in my parents' deep freeze!! My brother and his wife wed not 3 months after my Hubby and I and their top tier is in the freezer as well. My mom and I joked how horrible it would be if we got up to WDW to unwrap it and find my brother's wedding cake! If that were the case, I think we would still partake in the tradition. :lookaroun

Thank you! We hope to be able to continue with anniversary trips every year as long as we can!! Gotta start at Numero Uno!! Our anniversary lands on Labor Day weekend which makes it easier to plan our quick getaways, but who knows when kids come into the picture in a few years!

Thanks Holly! I will be 3 weeks into my second to last semester of my MBA program, but I am bound and determined to make sure I write a Trip Report!! I definitely won't let it get away from me again!

Congrats on your 1st anniversary! My husband and I spent our 5th at Riverside last year. Add MNSSHP to the mix and it was an amazing anniversary weekend. Hope you have a wonderful time! :sohappy:

That's what we did, except ours is on Memorial day. Its always nice to have a built in three day weekend. Enjoy it as long as you can....
